Picture colors lines R,G,B mis alingments, have colors shadows pictures or 3D pictures look alike?Yes.The tv convergence board is dead, the board require changes 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.To fix the tv convergence board.U must have tools like a soldering iron,a desoldering pump or a roll of desoldering braids and also can do soldering work?Yes,tries websites like Tvrepairworld.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy a convergence kit belong to ur tv model and make to repair it ur self.Or the shop will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.
In my experience it's easier to just pull the chassis out and flip it over. The white connecters can be disconnected by applying sufficient force pulling up, you can also use a screw driver or pen. Place the pen under the connector flat and pull up on either side to apply even force to the entire connector. Goodluck and remember to mark the convergence connectors 1, 2, 3 so they go back where they belong. They are the little white connectors that are identical.
This tv 100% have a convergence problems,it dead. The tv convergence board, must require changing 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors.U have tools like a soldering iron, desoldering pump and solders?Know basic electronic, can u do soldering?Tries website like Tvrepairworld.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy a convergence kit to do the repair ur self.Or the shop, will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.
U have tools like philip screw drivers, long noise plier and a soldering iron, soldering wick or desoldering pump and solders?U Know how to do basic soldering?Tries websites like Tvrepairworld.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy a convergence kit to repair it ur self.U can go to You Tube type in convergence problems, will see a video by someone tutoring doing convergence board repair.
This sounds like convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually charge between $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks! See link for more detail http://www.ehow.com/how_4575598_yourself-projection-tv-repair-convergence.html Note:The convergence/defletion/power board (the one the IC's are on) of this model is on the left hand side (when facing the back of set) also check for blown pico fuses when replacing the convergence IC's The best way to replace the IC's resistors and possibly fuses is to remove the entire board.
Most IC's on circuit boards these days are of the surface mount variety. You will need special Desoldering Equipment to remove these chips, especially the one wth 100 or more pins, the type of equipment used in this process heats all sides of the chip at once while a small suction that grabs the chip for removal. Now the SIP chips (Single inline package). chips which usually consists of less then 20pins can be removed with a desoldering gun such as the HAko 880 desoldering gun. Or you can use a standard soldering iron and solder Wick, that can be found at Radio Shack under Soldering Braide).. These procedures are common for all IC replacement. I am asuming you are trying to remove the Convergence IC on this model, The two large Black one labeled STK-392-110, the correct and easy way to remove these is to remove the entire board from the unit and remove the two screws holdinf each one in place, Unsolder the pins of each one and remove the IC, reverse this process to reinstall them. Good soldering technique is critical here as you don't want to bridge pins together causing yourself more problems. Double check your soldering and Double check it again.
yes they can hold a bit of voltage so a high voltage probe will discharge them nicely, something you might not have but can get from ebay if you are going to do this alot. you don't need to be concerned about this though as you won't be doing anything with them so don't touch..
just be carefull when desoldering these stk's use solder wick and patience even a pro can take an hour to desolder these so be carefull not to lift the trace or the situation will quickly get worse. don't adjust these tubes as they are set to the correct alignment already.
with skill and experience.
need solder wick or solder sucker(radio shack)
screwdriver set, needle nose pliar, solder and solder iron 35 40 watts.
desolder the IC all legs on bottom of pc board.
pull the ic out with needle nose, install new ic ,u might have to bend and straighten the legs, dont force it. now solder all the legs carefully.
