Question about Lexmark X7350 All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

What does it mean to have an optional wireless port?

I purchased a Lexmark all in one printer model x 5650 (not 7350, sorry my mistake on earlier question) and it does not have wireless printing, but it does have the optional port for wireless printinting. What does that actually mean and can I add or install what is necessary for wireless printing in the future?
Thank you for your help.

That means you have to buy the optional card so that you can print to it using a wireless llink.

A "No communication" dialog appears when you try to print or scan.
What to do
If you are printing wirelessly, launch the printer's Wireless Setup Utility and follow the instructions.
If you are connected by USB or ethernet, try one or more of the following:

  • - Ensure the cable is secure at both ends.

  • - Disconnect the printer power suppy from the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds, and then reconnect it.

  • - Restart the computer.

  • - Make sure the correct port is selected in the Properties screen. To do this:

      1. Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel.

      2. Double-click on the Printers folder.

      3. Right-click on the printer icon and select Properties.

      4. In the Properties screen, click the Port tab.

      5. Ensure that the printer port is set to one of the USB port options; see below.

Hi there, how is it going? I want my ricoh printer to make it wireless but the problem is there's no slot for wireless port? it is possible to buy a hardware for that??

There is no wireless print option available for the aficio 450. Nobody will be making one either as the machine is just getting too old now. Ethernet/Parallel are the only options for printing to this machine.
Thank You for using Fixya.

Ocr program is missing

I am sorry but lexmark dose not support downloading of there OCR software over the internet you will have to purchase a copy of if from a store such as staples. I am sorry for the inconvenience my opinion is you should be able to down load it from them but they want extra money for it.

I hope this helped.

Thank you,
Norse

Can't connect wirelessly to a lexmark x4850

Try:
  1. write down the MAC address of your Lexmark,
  2. log into the router and reserve an IP address with that MAC
  3. Setup the Wireless parameters (SSID, Encryption to WPA or WPA2 Personal, assign a Pass Phrase you can remember. Then save the config and reset the router.
  4. on the Lexmark console, navigate to wireless settings and configure with the matching parameters as set in step 3.
  5. If the wireless connection is matched and connected, open up Internet Browser and type in the IP address in Step 2
  6. It should have a web-interface allowing you to customize it.
  7. Install the printer with the driver disc but should now look for a Networked option. or simply Add or Change the Port of your existing Printer's Properties.

Lexmark 6500 wireless printer does not print even though it is detected in the wireless network

-check your firewall, it might be blocking your printer or your network
-check also if the correct port is detected, just go to your printer and faxes and right click on your lexmark printer and click on properties, then under ports tab check your lexmark network port.

Wireless Connection

I have the same problem and I have exhausted all options that I can think of. Last night I reset the network settings for the printer and started over and at the end, after going through the whole wizard again, it spit out a new network page and looked like the problems were fixed. (was now on channel 11,used to be on 6, also said it was connected to the wireless network when before it said it was not). I got excited thinking it had finally connected, but when I went to print a test page I got the same communication problem error message. I just got off the phone with Lexmark Support and he told me it was most likely printing to the wrong port. When I go to my printers properties page, it is printing to USB001 (Lexmark virtual printer port), and he told me it needs to be on "Lexmark 1400 Series" port. I will try to create a new port tonight and hopefully I have "Lexmark 1400 Series" as an option to choose from.

Jeez this thing is exhausting. I consider myself to be fairly computer savvy and I have wasted 4 nights working on this thing to no avail. How do people who don't know their way around a computer handle wifi printing to the 1420??
