He says it's about the Polar Fitwatch, even though it's filed under the F6. The Fitwatch doesn't actually turn off. For more info, download the manual from here:http://www.pursuit-performance.com.au/polar/html/local/user_manuals.html

My wife asked me to set the time on her watch. She no longer has a manual. Can you help? It is a polar CE0537 Polar Electro and has two side buttons but no button in front. Thank you.

There is a link to download any Polar manual in PDF form in my tips and tricks page.

Are you sure there is no button in front? Polar watches are all activated for exercise recording by a front button. And if it is an A5 as the request and picture show there is definitely a front button.

On the back of the unit, near the upper portion of the backing will be the model number it will be a letter/ number code like A5, M32, etc... The CE0537 is a different coding than the model itself. You will need the model number for the correct manual.

Polar RS800: display/digits disappear when I press on start (red) button - batteries are not low, and same does not happen when I press any other button

Send into Polar, you may have a possible warranty issue, some of the older versions of this model had a glitch that was this exact problem.

www.polarusa.com or www.polar.fi for who to send into your area. This needs to be sent directly to Polar not the authorized service centers.

The buttons on the right (in the pic) or while facing you are the way into the menu's.

#1 - Push the center right button (exercise will appear)
#2 - Push the upper right button (settings will appear) use the upper right or lower right buttons to scroll if neccessary
#3 - Push the center button (a menu will appear)
#4 - choose Watch, use the upper right or lower right buttons to scroll if neccessary
#5 - Push the center button to choose watch, once highlighted
#6 - use the upper right or lower right buttons to scroll through the watch menu
#7 - Choose Time
#8 - Continue to use center button and scroll buttons to choose and set.

Important button to know - the bottom left button is a reverse button. Make a mistake, just tap that button, keep tapping to go all the way back to the main menu.

I wish to replace the battery myself, how do I do this?

Polar tells its customers to send watches to them for battery replacement. But the Polar Fitwatch is too old (may have been introduced in 1997?), and they no longer support it. So the only solution is to replace the battery some other way.

For most people I'd say go to a store that sells watches, they'll replace the battery for a fee.

For those who are handy, you can replace it yourself. I did mine yesterday.

The battery is a common type - CR 2032.

You'll need a small screwdriver, philips type, I think. Maybe around 00, or thereabouts. And you need tweezers, preferably with a rubberized grip.

There are four screws holding the back plate. Remove three, and loosen the fourth. Slide the back plate aside.

I unscrewed the screws, then used the tweezers to take them out. They're a bit small for your fingers to get a good grip on them.

The battery is held by a plastic holder that's held by 4 screws. These are (to my eyes) slightly smaller than the ones holding the back plate, so please keep those separate - and keep track of all the screws.

Remove the plastic holder, and make sure you keep track of the spring that's between the holder and the back plate. It'll likely fall out when you turn the holder over.

The holder keeps the battery with a small prong, but it's easy to slide out the battery. Replace the battery, getting the orientation right, making sure you don't touch either side with your bare fingers. This part is easier than it sounds.

Replace the holder, and of course you noted beforehand what the orientation was, so you get it in the same position.

Use the tweezers to drop each screw into its hole, then screw it in.

By this time, the watch will probably start beeping when you tighten one of the screws, because you depress one of the buttons on the front.

Put the spring back in its hole, then slide the backplate back into place, and drop the screws in place with tweezers and tighten one by one.

You should be able to find a manual (which doesn't cover battery replacement procedure) by searching for polar fitwatch manual.

Hi i have change the battery in a polar f6 but?

Make sure you don't have the battery in upside down. The large outside case of a button cell is the +positive side.

Strange symbol

The same thing happened to me, and here is what I found in an online user manual (but not the one delivered with my watch). Switching the Backlight On
Press the Light button and the display is illuminated for a few seconds.
After you have illuminated the display once while exercising night mode symbol (MY WORDS HERE : the "eye symbol") appears in the display. The display automatically illuminates each time you press any button or bring the wrist unit near the Polar logo on the transmitter, until you stop recording the exercise.

Polar F6

Hello,

It sounds like most of you have the heart rate set to display in % of max heart rate. Most Polar products have the option of heart rate in BPM(beats per minute) or percentage of max.

If you look at the display during the exercise, you will see a % icon. You can turn it off in by hitting the back button and go down to HR view settings.

Hope this helps.
