Your remote came with set-up instructions, telling you how to program the remote, using the codes listed in the in the instructions. If you don't have the instructions, go to support on the remote manufacturers web site. Type in your model number and download the instructions. murf427
Don't know what model remote from Cox you have, but the instructions for all of them are on their website. Also, the codes for RCA televisions are there as well. You start with the first one (there are usually several), and keep changing them until you find the one that works, by following the same procedure each time.
I'm sorry that you lost the Manual for the RCA Manual. The Manual of the Remote and code list documents are available in pdf form for download. Please click here to download the Manual and Click here to download the code list. You can get the instructions to programming the Remote from the Manual.
Please let me know if you require any clarifications.
Hi, I don't know what TV you are using this remote for but if you still have access to the owners manual, it should include programing instructions for this remote if it is the one that came with your TV. If you don't have the TV manual, you should be able to search on Google and download it off the internet.
read the directions at the part where it says manually program, you have to do certian functions then push the channel up and down until tv responds then its programmed, this is actually finding the code as you go, instructions will explain it all because ech universal is just a little diff in its manual process.
If you mean the code for this brand that you need to program a remote control, you will need to check the instructions that came with the remote. Device codes are assigned by the remote manufacturer, not by the TV maker. The code for a brand of TV won't always be the same from one remote to another. If you've lost your instructions, you can usually find them at the manufacturer's website, or get the information from your cable company if it's the cable box remote.
