Hello, The tricky thing to Tomtom devices is the ROM put into the device. It needs to be reset once in awhile. The soft reset is like formatting a hard drive but leaving the system files alone. At the bottom of the device, there is a reset button. You'll need to use the end of a paperclip to reset the unit. After it's reset, reinstall the Tomtom application only. Let it reset itself and come back to the original screen, then go to menu and set your preferences. Also connect it to home and if you backed up your data to your computer, reinstall your maps. The only time your Tomtom device gets bogged down and won't finish a reinstall is when all 1 GB of memory is used up. Hope this helps.

This is an indication that the map or map unlock key is either missing or corrupted. If you have registered your unit with Garmin, try connecting to your PC and try downloading the map again. More info on missing maps can be found here:

I bought call of duty world at war and then i got the latest map pack when i hit download the ps3 totally froze so i tried and tried again but it just didnt work so not having much on my ps3 anyway i...

Try updating your system the manual way:

recovery menu 'safe mode'.

Press and hold the power button until the systems shuts off. (wait 2 seconds)

Press and hold the power button again until you here 3 beeps. Let go.

It should ask you to connect your controller via usb and press the PS button in

the middle of your controller. There will be a menu with 6 options. Perform 6, "system update."

If this doesn't work, when your system froze and you powered it down, you may have corrupted your Hard Drive (Hard Disk). You will need to replace it.

When you replace your hard drive, you will need to have the latest firmware on a

usb stick. Download the firmware from the playstation official website onto a usb

stick. Once prompted by your system you will need to insert the usb stick into the

PS3. Good luck..

You will need 2.5" Sata Hard Drive.

When the "no detailed maps found that support routing" screen comes up it covers any of the icons, so I'm unable to do anything.

Garmin Quest

Hello, I currently own a Garmin quest myself, and some time ago I had some strange problems myself, I am a electronics technician, and I do have a work around for you. I will explain the problems and a cure for you to try, none of the work arounds depend on any parts to be removed.

1. NO RECEIVING SATELLITE TELEMETRY. I beleieve this could be due to a number of reasons, but more so at sometime corrupted telemetry was the problem to fix this,
a turn GPS on when booted (initialised)
b. depress menu
select settings
select Time Setup
when in Time Setup depress MENU
Select SET DATE
Depress OK button
Depress OK button again on the numberic keypad that appears on the screen (DONE)
what this seems to do is resets the internal date/time clock and the unit starts to work again.
the Second workaround is this but takes hours to perform.

Simply turn the Guest on and allow the battery to fully discharge, usually this works to TOTALLY flush the Memory again, but on my unit I have to setup all the maps again, this is easy to perform, but just takes time. I hope this helps you.

Error screen trouble shooting

If you have the USB cable and a dvd/cd that contains the software/maps, then it needs to be loaded. Install the software on your computer. With the unit off, plug it into USB, then turn on unit. run program installed from dvd/cd. you can also try resetting the unit by holding down the Menu and Nav key, hopefully a small box appears and you can use the stiff stick to change the numbers. if this does appear, change the numbers to read 32 then press the stiff stick in (pressing enter). _Daniel
