I believe that's a sign the HD is bad. However, I've not worked with the Apples in a very long time. (Remember the Macintosh Classic?)

My macbook has a white screen with blinking folder inside what can i do

The issue is that the laptop cannot find a disk to boot from. This could be due to a number of things. Failed disk, corrupt disk, corrupt system files on the disk. If you have a system disk and an internal or external dvd reader, you may be able to boot from that. If not, then you will probably be visiting an Apple store, or at least a computer repair shop that repairs apple computers. If you have no backup, you risk losing your files.

My Apple mac book pro will not boot up. I have a grey screen. I've taken out the battery held doen the on button for 5 seconds and re connected it nut I've still got a grey screen. Help

The grey screen is the bios of your laptop is booting, this is freezing for some reason.
Do 3 things.
Try holding power button down for longer at least 10-20 seconds.
do a PRAM reset, apple symbol, alt P & R keys all held on boot up.
Do a smc reset.
  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
  3. Remove the battery.
  4. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
  5. Release the power button.
  6. Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
  7. Press the power button to turn on the computer.

Blinking file folder with question mark and a DVD is stuck in it

Hello, The blinking file folder with the question mark can happen when the computer doesn't "see" your System. It can be caused by a faulty hard drive, or by a damaged operating system. You can try to reboot the mac, hold the mouse button during 20 seconds to eject the CD, then insert you installation DVD (leopard). Reboot the Mac again, and hold the "C" key. Select english, the go to the tools menu, and Disk Utility. Go to the SOS tab, select your drive and click "repair". If something red appears, it means that it has found something wrong on your hard drive. Best regards

Question mark when turn on laptop

Unfortunately, the clicking sound means that the hard drive is bad. That is why it will not boot. If it is under warranty, call Apple support. 800.275.2273 in the US.
800.263.3394 in Canada

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Macbook Error

It's not finding your operating system. Could be failed hard drive, corrupted registry or a start up disk error. Have you tried starting on the Macbook Pro install disk 1? If not, insert the disk while it's starting up, it and hold down "c" key. When I comes to the start up window, click the right arrow button, proceed to the install window but don't install! Instead select "disk utility" under the pull down menu (upper left hand corner of the screen). Select the hdd in the upper window and click the "repair" button. Repeat the repair again after is finishes. If there is no hdd icon in the upper window, the hdd is probably fried and needs to be replaced. Hope this helps.

When I turn on my Mac Book Pro

The flashing folder with hard drive symbol is telling you that the computer cannot find a bootable system folder (operating system). This could be because the hard drive is working properly, or the operating system folder has become corrupted. Try booting up from the system CD or DVD that came with your Mac Book Pro and see if it can repair your hard drive.
