Replacing 10up @16volt caps on toshiba hyperboard help toshiba 42

Hi i have soldered and desoldered resistors anf fuses but im not sure how to desolder and solder these capcitors on a toshiba 42h82 hyperboard

what do i desolder...it doesnt look like pins sticking out like res and fuses....it looks like little "houses" or raised rectangle/squares

    thanks i found a pic online in another forum...but again can you tell me

    i have done resistors and fuses before very easy for me

    with these you said im not actually using a desolder tool??

    you said to just heat up and pull out and then heat up and install???

    no removal or adding of solder???????

They are just little box reservoirs. Heat them up and pull it out when hot. Heat it up again and set the caps in the hot solder box.

    I don't but someone here may if you repost your second question separate.
    You should be able to find it though if you have a oscilloscope. Each resistor will have a value based on
    the color bands around. you can check these values and if any are dead, theres your culprit.

The actual board is in a box, careful the four metal pins must be un-soldered to remove the unit from the main board.

Search for the audio amplifier - it's a chip with a radiator on it - the jack for the speakers should be close by.

jhinsincity: you dont need to be here, do you? the problem are the caps on the hyperboard, 10 -16v@ 10uf, rear access right hand green board, model 57hx81, the hyperboard must desoldered from main board. read the post on wavy lines,,

It Is Fuzzy and the picture jumps around until it warms up but when put in picture in picture the 2nd picture is clear


you need to have a tech replace 10 caps in the Hyperboard there is a service bulitin on this on the toshiba web site

Check any/all soldered-in micro fuses....F850,F851 etc.
Re-check your work......
solder jumper wires on signal board or fuse (s) may blow......T.

Toshiba 57h81 location of hyper board and remove procedure


Hyper board is located directly behind the input board, this is where all the tv conections are, then they are two tabs soldered from the bottom of the board then it simply unplugs, But replacing all those capacitors on that board can be a little tricky, replace all 10up @16volt caps and that usaly repairs the board

Dougers, I am next door, in Alberta. I have fixed my hyperboard by replacing the surface mount caps myself in my workshop for a fraction of the cost of a replacement board.

You need part #23148024.  The part is NLA.  I have 1 in stock or you can send yours to PTS electronics 800-844-7871 for rebuild.
