The scanner driver is separate from the printer driver. This link will take you to the downloads page of Brother-usa.com, where you select the machine family, then the specific model. Click the downloads link at the bottom, then, and you'll get to a page to select what you want and for what OS. Brother lists Mac os's from 9.x to 10.6. Even if you have a driver on CD, the website usually has a newer version.
Edward, I have this same problem. Were you able to solve it? Anyone, can you help? I have installed the drivers. When I connect the printer to my Mac, it launches ImageCapture and previews the scan fine. But I am unable to get the "scan" button to become active, adn there is no place to save the scan. If I click "save pdf to iphoto" it saves a pdf of the entire screen, rather than just the photo. Appears not to be Mac compatible for scanning purposes. Thank you for your help.
Well I haven't necessarily scanned often, but i do know if you open up a program such as word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Corel, etc... You are given an option to scan. That way you can scan information, images and such to that program in which you use. C2424 wont give you any support because its a primary printer but the drivers should include drivers for the scanner and the computer to interconnect. If you have any photo like software on your mac. Try looking at the options at your top menu for an option or "import" Many times it will give you the option to scan from a device.
To scan to computer its software based. Also on the Panel on the printer you should be given an option to scan. If printer is connected by USB it will be easier to detect scans from panel, but if your printer is connected via Ethernet it will be different.
I hope this helps. Try using a program that you can use to edit pictures or display. You should be given an option.
I hope this helps. Let me know what you do? and possibly i can mirror what you do on my own mac
When I send a job to the printer via Ethernet, nothing happens on the printer. I only get a solid red light. Why? This is an indication of a media size mismatch. Make sure that the correct media size is set on the tray to which you are printing, and try the job again.
are you pressing ok on the printer? all of your scanning should be done via the MP460 navigator. check your applications under the Canon Utlitiy and click on the MP460 Navigator button. scanning needs to be done via that - not the actual printer.
refer to the dialogue box when you are on the MP460 navigator. lower left area has a Save bar, when you click on it tow options: save to PC or save as PDF.
