Scroll wheel no longer scrolls

I have an Apple mouse connected to my dsktop. The scroll wheel no longer scrolls though the ball rotates easily. Any quick fix to this problem?

I had the same problem... at least I think it was the same, I took a pressureized air can and with the small tube I heald in the scrooler button and blew air to clean off the contack inside. It worked for a few weeks and I had to do it again. I guess I have a dirty schroll finger... Good Luck.

Turn mouse off, get a clean sheet of paper, rub mouse wheel on paper on a smooth hard surface - this will clean any dirt preventing scrolling. Works for Blackberry trackballs as well - but be careful with scratching the screen.

My rx1000 mouse wheel doesn't go well. It needs a lot of force to be rotated. I'd like to open it to check what't the reason for this.

it is fixable if the springs are dislocated, open up and you can fix it easily or scroll wheel support maybe broken!

Apple wireless mouse will not scroll down. Any suggestions on fixing this problem?

remove the battery cover and batteries, spray compressed air through the two plastic lids (use precision hose included), so that air passes into and clean dust and dirt.
Then clean the scroll ball with a piece of cotton cloth moistened with water.

Top scroll ball dose not work

Easy fix. Turn your mighty mouse upside down. With a dry cloth, preferably microfiber or a lens cloth, rub the wheel vigorously back and forth to clean out any dust that may be stuck in the mouse.

Scroll Button does not work

Take the mouse off of the computer. Turn it upside down on a piece of clean printer paper, so that the scroll ball is touching the paper. Roll it around briskly on the paper. This will help clean off the scroll ball.

Microsoft notebook mouse 5000 Wheel scroll stopped

Fixing the wheel/scroll malfunction was as simple as a reboot. I usually shut down in hibernate. Apparently the system needed a complete reboot to reset.

Thank you for following up.

Mighty Mouse won't scroll down

I have had the same problem on occasion.  I found that if I turn the mouse over and tickle it...  It works!  Only kidding...
Turn the mouse over, push down hard so the ball is depressed, and move it vigorously in all directions.  That usually dislodges whatever is trapped inside.
