Hp pavilion zt1135 won't boot after memory upgrade

I installed 512 mb memory in my HP. It booted the first time and recognized the memory. The computer locked up and I had to shut it off. When I turned it back on it will not load. I removed the memory and it will load now. Can you give me any idea what the problem might be.
Thanks

    NOTE to knotbeerdan

    - I´m not sure, but if you remove the memory board from the easy to
    access lid in the bottom.

Reboot; and see if you still have memory.

If - you have memory still, the extra memory board is situated under the
    keyboard.

There are a few screws in the bottom with an icon looking like the
keyboard, remove, and then slide the "slides" between the F4-F5 and
F8-F9 and between F12-Del, careful, the keyboard film is very fragile.

Here - is the second memory board, - if there is two.

Upgraded ram 1gb wont boot hp 510 mobo 30C4

If you added another 512Mb RAM to increase the RAM to 1Gb then the new 512Mb memory stick could be incompatible with the original 512Mb or it could be faulty.
Use RAM that is same make and speed as the original RAM.
Remove both RAM and just insert the new 512Mb into your laptop and see if the laptop boots up, if not then the RAM could be faulty.

Hi,

Make sure that you got the right memory module with this specs:

Memory
  • DDR266 (266 MHz) so-DIMM 200 pin
  • 2 DIMM slots; upgradable to 1 GB total memory (512 MB x 2)
or better go to this link http://support.fujitsupc.com/CS/Portal/supportsearch.do?srch=GUIDES

there's a step by step troubleshooting for memory modules. Also make sure you purchase memory module from Fujitsu or Authorized Fujitsu Dealers .

Added more ram but it's not working Compaq E500

what did you mean not working ?? didnt see the new Ram memory ?/ or didnt boot at all ....anyway ...when adding new ram memory ..first thing you do is to remove the Bios battery for to let bios on defaults and let it be able to read the new added unit ....second ...be sure the new added ram is compatible and in the same frequency ,then remove the battery like I said and in the last ...reinstall the operating system ....always look at the boot to see if the ram memory that is displayed is the same value with the one you know that actually is installed on the slots...it should work if this was just an option to make it faster ...and not a wild guess cause it use to have issues and didnt boot before...

Hp Pavillion laptop freezes when I install secondary memory

You may not put all together the 256 and 512, the system encountered error when two memory are not equal size and not equal brand.

Either you select 2 units 256 memory or either 2 units 512. or use only 1 unit 512 memory so that no freezes will happen.
