Question about Mitsubishi WS-55809 55" Rear Projection Television

Mitsubishi 1080, Model #WS-B55

This is Zeke again, With today economy we're are trying to help my aunt (fixed income) please informed me what the average cost will be to fix the problem. If I can help her solve this problem it could be helpfull.
The picture has a severe ghost, the top is red the same picture appears below the red except green and distored.
Going into the manu, I had aligned the red, blue to the center cross, upon cheking the grid adjustment where the red and blue appears again it shows it out of alignment. The original white grid is now sagging down tours the middle and acourse it is throwing all alligments (red, blue) off. Please note, these problem pretain to the TV not my aunt !!!! Again, Thank You.

What you're describing is a repair issue. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do through troubleshooting to correct that problem. There is an internal part that has to be replaced. If you're under warranty or have an extended service plan, the repair will cost you nothing.

Severe Ghost.

Mitsubishi has been known for having bad solder connections on their Convergence ICs from the factory. If you are tech savy, and don't mind doing some soldering, follow these instructions:

Unplug set, remove the back cover, find the convergence board (should be labeled, if not it is the long narrow board usually on top or side), find the convergence ICs on the heatsinks and resolder all the pins and ground. This should fix your problem.
