If the printer is new, the cartridges may give less number of print outs with epson printer or the cartridges may not work at all. This problem may be because the cartridges has a resetting chip. This chip has a capacitor that is drained off over the years.
did you properly close the scanner lid? these type of errors do usually occur when you unproperly close the lid wherein light passes inside causing it to reflect on the document that you are trying to scan
The flashing lights are a "Maintenance request error" or a "Fatal error". Most of the time it is a "Maintenance request error" which means the waste ink pads need to be serviced. You can reset the waste ink counter but the ink pads will need to be serviced at some point. get more information and help from here . Hope this helps you.
hi if all the lights are flashing and if you have tried turning printer off and unplugging it from power supply and still you are getting the same error lights then chances are thats a hardware issue already. call epson support so that they can assist you regarding the warranty status of your printer.
