Question about HP DeskJet 3650 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

HP 3650 gives incorrect error message

My HP 3650 gives a message "unknown ink cartridge". Problem occurs randomly, and always on right cartidge (black, nr 27).
After removing the cartidge, cleaning the contact pins and replacing it, one or two pages can be printed.
The dialog containing the error message has a button 'cancel printing'. This is the only way to remove the job from the print queue. Any other method for removing the print job results in hanging print software. Sometimes, a cold restart of windows is the only remedy to keep my computer running...

    Same story here.

I tried this, but it did not work out. I came to the conclusion that this might be caused by hardware failure. Examination of the contact-points between inkt-cartridge and the pins inside the cradle indicated serious tearing.

The printer served fot over 5 years, so I decided to replace it.

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

What does 'Print Cartridge in right stall not supported' mean?

It means you have a faulty or incorrect cartridge installed on the right side position. It could also mean the contacts are dirty or misaligned. Remove the cartridge, clean with rubbing alcohol and reinstall.

This is not a unknown error particularly if you are using cartridges other than the HP brand. Other people will tell you it is fine to use off brand cartridges or refilled cartridges. For myself, I have never had luck doing that - on the other hand, I have never been disappointed using the more expensive cartridges recommended by the manufacturer across several brands including Epson, Canon, Compaq and HP.

Try cleaning the contacts and ink jets. You may have to replace the cartridge. If that is the case, I would return the faulty cartridge and get a store credit.

Just a few thoughts for you to consider. Thank you for using FixYa.com today.

HP PSC 2355 incorrect print cartridges error message

not quiet a solution dugguly but i've just had the same problem in reverse, i moved to the us with same printer, ink ran dry, it won't take hp94. after 3 phone calls and 4 emails with hp i learned that all hp printers sold after 2004 are regionalised, therefore a us printer will NOT WORK with UK bough cartridges and vice-a-versa. the only way round this is to call the HP support and ask to be taken through the step by step guide to reseting the region of your printer to the UK regional setting OR and this is my option, get friends/family in the US to ship US cartridges to you in the UK. Too bad as Tesco do a good line in gneric cartridges - Good luck - mattw

Error message on hp deskjet printer

I had a similar problem when I tried to install a refilled HP cartridge. I took the cartridge out, unplugged the printer (hard boot), plugged it back in and reinstalled the cartridge. That got it to work.

If that doesn't work, try taking a cotton swab (q-tip, cotton bud) and clean the contacts on the ink cartridge. Even though they are gold plated, sometimes contamination will cover one or two contacts so the printer will not properly read the cartridge.

Hope this hleps....

PRINTING ERROR

I would not recommend you refilling HP ink cartidges.
Because no other ink cartridges can give you a better quality or value for you money.
Even if you call HP and say that you are using reffiled ink cartridges then they will not support you even if you are in warranty.
Because Genuine HP Cartridges are manufactured under SIX SIGMA Quality assurance and they give Value for you money.
What i can suggest you is to try a Geniune set of ink catriadges and check.

Good Luck
