New "all in one" Lexmark has never worked. Was given to me by someone who didn't want to mess with it. Appears in perfect working order. Powers up fine. Communicates on the screen well. Mode and menu buttons work. Put a new print cartridge in.
Keeps reading "print cartridge missing". Help please.
Could have a corrupt driver. Disconnect
the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do
both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer
to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

If the ink cartridges you purchased are not Lexmark - that could be the problem. I used to have a Lexmark printer and I did the same thing - I purchased ink cartridges that were compatible but not Lexmark brand. Everything seemed fine until I tried to print and then I would get the same error sign and low ink message and it would not print. I kept thinking I was doing something else wrong and tried everything. In the end I broke down and got ink cartridges from Lexmark and that solved the problem. Now I have a Brother printer and I never buy anything other than Brother ink cartridges because I'm always afraid of that same thing happening again. I wish I knew which printers WOULD accept those non name brand ink cartridges, but thus far I do not know of any printers that do. Hope this helps you.
More than once I've gotten cartridges that we're bad (and some even empty) right from the manufacturer's box. Return it for exchange as defective (you won't get money back for opened ink, but they should exchange it). I'm assuming that you've already re-installed this cartridge a couple of times and that there we're no previous problems. Good luck!
In this case as u said u used this Catridges in 2 printers then check if u have removed the Transparent Strip from the catridges mand if it is removed and still u face this problem make sure u have inserted the Catridges in the right slot........
U need to insert the colour catridge on the right side and the black catridge should go on the left side....
If no go get the catridges replaced.......
Never throw out any receipts!!! A lesson my dear mum taught me a long time ago. You need to pay attention to what the printer is telling you. Incorrect cartridge error message could mean a clogged printhead, most people think they have cleaned properly but did you do it with proper cleaning solution. Was it a refilled cartridge or new one? Are you certain you did not accidentally touch the gold areas (printer points) as this can put oils and dirt or residue on the cartidge. Gently wipe both heads on cartridge very softly with a non perfumed baby wipe! Yes a baby wipe (people laugh at me until they see their printer go again!!!) Now try printing again. You can get rid of error message only when you fix the problem. If nothing helps, try uninstalling the printer and reinstalling with original operating disc. And yes, the printer cartridges can be faulty. Never dispose of your old receipts until you are virtually replacing the next cartridge. I keep all receipts for all costly items in a clear slip folder, or staple to original barcodes of box they came in. Did you try disconnecting usb cables to printer and reconnecting to reset it.
