Question about EliteGroup ECS A535 Notebook

Lines appear on my videos

Hi! I recently reformatted my laptop. I noticed that there was some difficulty in running videos, lines appear and there is a noticable lag when I enlarge to full screen. I checked my devices and there was a yellow exclamation mark beside ''video controller VGA compatible.'' I trawled the net looking for a driver for this but I can't seem to find the right one. I've even been to the ECS site (http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download.aspx?detailid=28&DetailName=Driver&DetailDesc=&CategoryID=1&MenuID=6&LanID=9) and tried downloading the VGA driver there, but after extracting the file, all I get are a bunch of ''aplication extensions'' and some notes, but nothing actually *runs*. HELP!!!

Here is some information that may be of use:
> OS: Windows XP Professional ver. 2002 Service pack 2
> Computer: Intel(R) Celeron(R) M 1.50GHz
> laptop is an ECS that I bought in 2006
> I'm not sure if the model is really A535 as indicated, it was just the closest thing in the list I could choose

Um, I guess that's it. I see other people posting information about motherboards and chipsets but that sort of stuff is beyond me. How do I pull up that sort of info anyway? :-P

Once again...HELP!!!!!

Go back into Device Manager. Click on the "+" sign where you saw the yellow!. This will bring up your device. Right click on it and click on "Update Driver". Also, you can uninstall driver, reboot and your Plug and Play will load driver. Sometimes that is all it needs.

Please don't forget to rate this solution.

I have a horizontal white line has been appearing recently on the bottom of my lap top's screen, i have not installed any new software and it hasn't fell down like ever ... what's the solution...

Hi,

Just boot to BIOS (either by pressing Del, F2, F10 (depends on the laptop brand).. upon turning on the unit). If the white lines appear, your problem is with the LCD screen.

If no white line in BIOS, install an updated driver of your video card. However, if installing the driver doesn't help, your video card is faulty.

Hope this helps,

I am getting lines on my laptop screen. the colored lines appeared all of a sudden and hiding half of my screen. pls help

Hi azmiug,

I see that you are getting colore lines on the screen hiding half of your LCD screen, Please see steps below.

*Turn your Laptop OFF.
*Once Turned OFF, Turned the Laptop back ON then keep on tapping F2 on your keyboard.
*By Tapping F2 on the keyboard this will bring you to the BIOS screen, once in the BIOS of your Laptop and the Colored Lines are still present then the problem is the LCD of your laptop and may reuire replacing.
*If the Colored Lines are not present then the Problem would possibly be the connection of the Video Card to the LCD or the Video Card itself.
*Reformatting Windows can be one of the steps to be done to find out if the issue Colored Lines will be fixed or not.

I hope that this will help you with your concern.

Have a nice day,

Please help i have a sony vaio vgn cs 290 laptop, recently i noticed a flickering thin line on my laptop screen base my laptop product ID is: 00426-oem-8992662-00400 thanks

Might need new LCD or the video chip on mother board is starting to fail. Connect it to a external monitor and if the line does not a appear in the ext monitor then its the LCD on the laptop. But if the line is still on the ext monitor as well then the video chip on the motherboard is bad. You will have to replace the motherboard or just get a new laptop, all depends of the age of the laptop.

Hi, i have AL1716 monitor (2 year old). Recently, there is a blue vertical line which appears on and off sometimes in the monitor. Can anyone suggest on a solution

Is the vertical line always at one location ? (on the screen)
If so, it appears that the video card/driver (on your PC or laptop) may be causing the line to appear occasionally ... i.e. flaky ... and it will likely fail (completely) in due time. To confirm it's the video card, try using another monitor (long enough) to see if it happens.
[ The line may also be caused by "dead" pixel on the screen ... but this usually happens on randomly located pixels on the screen, not on one vertical line. But, it may also be a possibility ... in which case, using a different monitor may prove it one way or the other ]

When you run the device lines appear on the screen

Hi! It may be just a videocard program error. Try to reinstall your video card driver and it may resolve the problem. If no luck on this, Try to check the ribbon to the monitor for it may need replacement too. HOpe this helps and have a good one!

Just want to know if the lines only appear in windows? try booting in bios setup check if the lines still appears. if not then uninstall the video driver then install latest version. if the lines appeared in all occasion then test laptop using an external monitor toggling the display Fn + F8 if no lines in external monitor replace you laptop lcd panel and lcd cable + inverter. if the line appeared in external monitor replace the mobo or video card.

Odd red fuzzy screen on desktop

Hardware failure in either the video chip or the lcd panel itself. To check which connect the laptop to an external monitor and see what appears: if the lines are still there then it's the chip - unreplaceable, the entire laptop is good for the skip; if the image is crystal clear then the panel must be replaced. If the laptop is still in warranty send it to them.

I reformat my dyna satellite, i dont noticed that my video card installer was lost... i try a lot of times to install any installer but it does'nt work...how can i install a videocard?pls help

You have to reinstall your video card driver.
You can download the driver from the internet.
Sometimes the video card drivers are compiled into a exe file, in that case you have to run the video card driver setup program in order to get your video driver up and running.
