Question about Computers & Internet
I have a Compact Presario F700 laptop that just stopped working. When power is turned on, it shuts off after 2 seconds. Does not start any of BOOT process. Fan does not turn on. All 3 LED's on lower left hand side of keyboard area turn on, then 2 outside LED's turn off after 1 to 2 seconds. Also the LED on the touch pad mouse does the same. Trouble shooting done as of now:
1. Tried new AC Power supply/charger
2. Pulled battery out and ran from supply only
3. Pulled out hard drive and repeated 1 and 2
4. Pulled out RAM and repeated 1 and 2
5. Pulled out DVD drive and tried 1 and 2
6. Reseated Battery, HD, RAM and DVD drives, still same.
I am thinking that it may be the fan circuitry/sensor. I have tried to open it up but I can not find the tricks to get into it. I have removed all the screws I can find. Any ideas as to the problem?
Hold F2 key and set up to default settings choose to boot to the hard drive save it and exit.
if that does not work then hold F8 chose to log in safe mode and from there try to find what issue is causing that particular problem...
otherwise try to download the ultimate boot cd (click here) and burn it into a bootable cd inserted on your pc and repair whatever is causing your nightmare.
