Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan-Reverse from downward to upward

#'s on remote control
FCCID:L3HMAY97FANHD
Model:FAN-HD

Was sure it was reversable, manual lost, unable to find switch to manually reverse, remote has no reverse button.

Can blades possible be somehow remounted to cause airflow change?

    Dipu 007,

It was great to know that the tech told you where the swith is, however, it would have been nice if you had told me where it is, since I have already been up on a latter looking from the top side down into the upper light bulb area, as well as feeling all around for where the swicth might be, knowing how they have been located on other fans, and usually visible from standing on the floor.

So, where exactly is it suppose to be?

    Thanks,

    Susan

Everyone is correct on this one. This reversing switch is located on the side of the ceiling fan itself and not the remote control.

You will find it usually exposed but sometimes it is under a rubber boot. You don't need to remove the rubber boot just push the switch under it.

You will prob need a ladder or chair to reach the reversing switch.

The ceiling fan sould blow downward in the summertime and blow upward in the winter.

Good luck.

Hi
Turning the fan on Hi and then pressing reverse seems wrong, but it actually switched then stopped the power to the fan enabling it to stop. then it will be able to select a speed to operate the fan in the opposited direction.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

On most models, the reverse rotation switch is physically located on the housing of the fan motor. Additionally, the blades need not be reversed nor is there a feature for reverse rotation available on the remote.

Pls post back result(s). Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

The switch is located on the fan, not on the remote, and you need a ladder to get there and activated.

HOW TO CHANGE DIRECTIONS OF BLADES ON HAMPTON BAY MODEL #70226

There is a switch on the side of the fan motor housing. Slide it the opposite way to reverse it. Make sure you wait until the fan comes to a complete stop to do so. Never reverse it while it is running, you could overload the motor and ruin it.

I believe they don't put the reversing switch on any remotes for that very reason.

Ceiling fan does not reverse with remote

Just reporting that I called Hampton Bay about the remote not working to reverse the fan. I was told that I needed to have the fan running on low and then press reverse on the remote control. If that doesn't work, customer service told me to press reverse while running the fan on medium. (Some fans are set to reverse on low and others on medium.) Nowhere in the manual is this addressed. I had been pressing reverse with the fan turned off, which seemed to me a logical thing to do. Live and learn.
