-   I put the dishwasher overnight as I always do and in the morning the kitchen was flooded, and the inside had water upto the door, (hense the flood!). Once the water was cleared up I put the dishwasher on to drain the water inside the machine. Now the machine drains and the pump stays on, and the first light blinks after about 10 seconds. This just continues. I can't go back to washing dishes can some please help!!!!-   Brudie

-   Problem seems to prevent water going in though water is there at the macine end of the hose. The machine tries to start then first light starts to flash and the usual noise stays on - is it pump buzzing?-   cbeebie

hi from italy,
well it happened to me and i fixed it yesterday
14 june 2009.
the washer pulls the water and then light 2 and 4 blink.
check the heating element under the machine.
if you ohm this it should show about 100 ohms or less.
the maching dies a system check and if it diesn't see the element it goes into alarm.
the element will cost about 28 euro.
this element if good for the following machine on the box
ariston,indesit,hotpoint,scholtes
unplug the machine and take it somewhere to work on ,some water will spill out.
you will have to replace the clamps once you pry it off.
hope this helps
