Question about PC Laptops

1 Answer

EU/UK notebook reseller

I got a user who's looking for a used reconditioned Lifebook. They are in the UK, do you know of a good regional company like we have with Tiger Direct in Canada that will not be a customs nightmare for him in the UK?

Thanks,
Worldvet

I wonder if that's Vista 64 or 32 and is it using that to make a ready boost drive behind the scene and do you have an onboard display adapter that's not fully disabled, but is reserving RAM should you opt to use it?

I did ask Ginko too, thanks.

I don't know if Vista, reserves memory for Ready Boost whether its in use or not, and I believe that is only for SSHD like flash memory in particular.

The only other thing is that the bios is reserving it for your onboard VGA and a bios patch may fix that.

Then, it could be the math used. I'd ask Asus. Here for me its a regional phone call but I always get some oriental wiz kid. They may be using a toll free line these days.

I know, call for an RMA and see what they come back with. That cold be interesting.

Thats what bios reports, seems like a hardware issue now. 64bit xp.

  • Ekse Jan 09, 2009

Thanks, I already though about the bios update, but I have the latest when I upgraded to Phenom. I'l try the update again, I'll also drop a email to the company I got the board from, see if they have had this before, I'll look into it more.

Well 5.25GB of 6GB Is alright I don't mind that much.

These kingstom ddr2 modules are small, smaller than I've ever seen on a desktop pc, well they look like the memory modules from 1990-1995 ordered two more of them, Il be at the limit, 8GB then. the memory is so cheap now and the prices are still coming down, I spend more money on food for a week here than 4GB of ram.

I'll let you know if I get this solved, talk to you later.

Hey WorldVet, wanted to thank you again for the tip on Synergy, I just put the laptop back together, got xp / HDD from another acer laptop, booted up fine, synergy installed, Thank you so much, I can use the laptop as a server or a extra display now, it would be worthless just lying around. Thanks to synergy I can use it. Thanks again.

Fujitsu Lifebook B2154

Sure, on EBay. A search by using the terms Fujitsu Lifebook Laptop in that order and should get you the most results. Click here to go to the results page. That I came up with doing just that. Make sure you have a reputable seller and ask them questions of some sort to see if they easily speak with you in a friendly fruitful manner. If they don't I wouldn't buy from them.

Those are great laptops and there are plenty of them in use.

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Regards,
Worldvet
