Re: i have no sound in my pc.now what can i do?
It should be available on the Compaq website. www.compaq.com under the support section. Without knowing your exact motherboard I can't give a direct link as you will have to look up your board model # on the site. Hope this helps.

if you can get the model and brand name of your audio you can go and search driverguide.com. is you sound built in with the motherboard? just get the motherboard model and brand search the internet for the website that supports your motherboard. your can download at their site driver updates.
When you are formatting the PC all the motherboard function are lost. Check first the software if it is already installed. You need to install the motherboard driver so that the sound, video graphics, USB, LAN card and other part of motherboard are functioning, Load you installer CD to the CD room and install. After that it's bring you to restart to take effect and get functioning.
generally when you install any drivers , after installing successfully the system will restart. i think you are not installing your correct sound drivers. Install your sound card drivers from the motherboard CD. If you lost your motherboard CD , then go to this website www.drivermax.com . Install the software,it will automatically detect your hardware devices and installs the correct drivers .
You actually would be better off going out and buying a sound card that would plug into the Motherboard and then playing sound through that which would also mean you would need speakers. You aren't going to be able to recover the driver for the motherboard to get sound again.
IF you do have the motherboard driver cd that should have been included inn the packag whn you bought the pc then you can find the drivers for the sound on the cd it self, if its onboard sound you are talking about.
-IF its a pci sound card and you do have the driver cd well there u go...
-IF you lost the cd and it is onboard sound then you need to check the model number and the manufacturer name on the board it self and go search for the drivers on the web, th same thing if its a pci card
hope this helped if not send me more info on what board or card and ill go and find you a direct link as to where you can download the drivers
First Make sure your PC has access to the internet
Click "Start" --> "Control Panel" Double click on "System" --> "Hardware" --> "Device Manager" Search for your "Sound Card" under "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" If there is a problem you will see an exclamation mark over the top of the symbol Right Click and Select "Update Driver" If you have the correct sound driver disk or driver disk that came with the pc insert this now and select "no not this time" then "install driver automatically" Alternatively Select "Yes this time only" to allow windows to search the internet If the driver is found windows will install it and may ask for a restart
If the updated driver is not found, follow the above instructions but do not select "Update Driver" select "Properties" and under the "General" tab your sound device and manufacturer is displayed
you need to uninstall pervious installed cd audio driver, Then re-install your audio driver again /restart your computer. if you do not have the cd audio driver, you can visit the website of your motherboard manufacturer. Enter in the search box your motherboard model number which can be located at the motherboard plate somewhere the pci exponsion slot. download the audio driver full path. Pleasure to help you!
