Grey screen (no picture) has sound & will not change channels.

I have a 19 inch Insignia television which is about a year old. It was on the other day when suddenly the screen went grey (with a darker vertical stripe present on the right hand side of the panel. The volume will go up and down but the television will not change channels. Any suggestions?

Its unfortunately a bad LCD panel. Even though the warranties for these TVs has expired, you should contact the manufacturer because there may be a hidden warranty ( when a manufacturer knows of an issue with a limited number of TVs and decides to quietly take care of those consumers who contact them.)

Be prepared for some resistance from the first person you speak with. Persistance pays off when dealing with the customer relations dept.s of large corporations.

Your TV most likely requires service. You may take the unit to the retailer of service to arrange for repairs. Note: physical damage that may have been caused by the unit tipping over would not be covered under the factory warranty.

It sounds like the LCD controller board is bad. There are more than one versions of this board because this brand of TV are made by more than one manufacturers. You need to get the number printed on the circuit board and look here: http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Insignia+IS-LCDTV32+

I have a 32 inch flat screen TV by Insignia. It's only a year old.only on channel 9 the sound goes on and off.it stays on for a minute and turns off for 2 minutes. .Why is it doing this???????

If this is only happening on channel 9 and no other channels at all.
This would be a channel issue. The TV would have to have the same issues on every channel for it to be a TV issue.

Hope this helps..

Insignia tv sound but no picture

At 8 years age components are wearing out. It sounds like a power supply issue. It is not cost effective to repair.

Slow changing channels

Same with our Insignia (19" LCD). Takes forever to change channels, and sluggish as heck in general. The viewing angle is poor, and the screen is not adjustable... We have a paperback book under the back part of it's flat base, so we can actually see the picture, without distortion and the shiny, aka "off the optimal viewing angle" silvery look. The picture (when watching it straight-on) and sound is fine, but the slow/sluggish performance, the tiny info and memo text, etc. makes it pain to use. Yes, It was "only" $100 + tax, but it should have a better, more acceptable performance and feature set.

Broksonic 19 inch CCVG 1935 - no sound, no picture, just a blue screen

Blue screen means either no signal (if unit has rear connections hook a DVD etc to one and go to that input and see if it works) Or the blue may mean set is in shutdown----5 months old and it should still have a warranty?

Insignia lcdtv32 poewr on but no picture

You need to check the 12 or 24v source coming from the power supply to the inverter board, that's the board usually to the left and rather tall. Get your meter set, then turn the set on and see what happens, if the voltage comes up and then shuts down, you'll need to pull the plug for the inverter and measure the voltage again. If it stays up you have a bad converter board, if not then it's in the power supply, that's good old fashion trouble shooting from there on.

Have lost sound on several od our channels

Thank you for your concern. Yes the problem is solved. It turns out the cable company did something to change the settings on our audio. Don't ask me what or how they did it but someone told us about it and how to correct it

Again thank you very much
