When someone turns one year older their % is highly effected. Why

We are using this tool for Body Fat Loss contests at our company and those usually in their 30's on up have noticed a significant change from one day to the next when they have a birthday.

The formula that the tool uses factors in age so you would notice a change in the numbers, but not a huge change. These devices are ok but really not accurate, there are too many things that can alter results. If you want a true reading you would need caliper test most gyms you can get a trainer to do this free or water immersion which can be costly. For your contest i would recomend tape measurements as an alternative hips waist, legs arms, Hope this helps and good luck with the contest.

Hi -we have an older version of soehnle 8310.00 baby scales for veterinary use. An E shows up on the screen now whenever we turn it on and nothing we do changes this. Is this fixable? Help!


Honestly, I've never used a
soenhla 8310.00 "baby scale". Actually, according to conventiona "codes", E might mean Error so your scale is not working correctly. Might be the battery?

There are a lot of tips to follow for rapid weight loss. Once you stop the diet, your body burns calories more slowly and you will gain weight faster-than ever before.

#. Do not forget breakfast

Not eating breakfast seems a simple way to reduce some calories, but the result may be insatiable hunger for the rest of the day. This can lead to a non-planned snack in the office, in huge portions for lunch and this as a result will increase the calories you consume. But a breakfast, which is rich in protein and fiber, can reduce hunger throughout the day. In fact, research shows that people who eat breakfast every morning are more likely to maintain normal weight.

#. Do not underestimate calories of snacks

Possibly you are carefully measuring the calories you take in each meal and you forget about the snacks. There are some cookies in your office, a piece of cake brought by a colleague, the ice cream of your children etc. All this added together can sabotage your otherwise well-designed weight loss diet. #. Do not forget that drinks also have calories

When counting calories, most of us tend to overlook those in our drink. It is a big mistake, when you consider that some coffees and alcoholic drinks are more than 500 calories. Even the calories in juice and soft drink can be added quickly. The worst is that the calories in liquids are not limiting hunger. We will not eat less after we get many calories with a drink.

#. You need to exercise regularly

Exercising intensively for two hours once every fifteen days has no value for weight loss. Conversely, someone who exercises daily, even 30 minutes, can greatly gain from the various benefits of exercise to health, while simultaneously laying the foundation for maintaining a desired weight and enabling rapid weight loss.

If you do not exercise, you put the whole burden of weight loss to the diet. If you become more active, you can eat more of the foods you like and still lose weight. I bought a Kambrook Muscle Analysing Scale model EF912 but do not have the manual


After some looking around for this product - it seems to be the same as a TM-EF912 which is made by a Polich company Tech-Med.
They do have a site and it does have a manual - only it is in Polish.
So just in case you can read Polish or know someone who can - here is the manual link. Sorry I could not find anything else - seems that this unit is made and then badged as to whatever name someone wants to put onto it (such as Kambrook)

Are green tea bags the same as ordinary tea?


Green tea is green tea... it shouldn't matter whether you use bags or loose tea. In fact, most green and black teas are made from the same tea leaves, only green tea isn't dried and aged as long. Good luck on your diet.

Body Fat Reading too high


Bring it back love..it's obviously ****..if u can not balance it out(usually there is a button) or reset the thing...bring it back and spend a lil bit more on something better..u seem serious about your body which is awesome so keep it up and replace the device

What do the three numbers represent? Weight is obvious, but "f" and then the last one?

I think this is the manual for the above mentioned product. Does it say f or BF? BF is % fat with in your body, although the techonolgy used is not too acturate, you can use it as a guide, to ensure the best possible acuracy be sure to use it at the same time of day preferably before drinking or bathing/showering. Usually first thing in the morning after you use the rest room is best. It uses electrical impedence to measure for the extra measurement features and these factors can skew the readings.

H20 would be water content, and

bone is bone denstiy which is important to keep take of espicially if you are an older female, or on medications that affect bone density. Although i am not sure how acurate the readings would be and highly reccomend if you are at risk for ostioparosis or any other diseases or on medications affecting bone desinties to check in with your doctor about testing and monitoring.

When to use Athletice setting?


Hi Susan,

Unfortunately with those body comp scales too many things can affect the reading and are not really reliable. If she drank water or even took a shower/bath before it changes the results. But by chance does she have implants? I have them and read at 26% in either mode but actually with calipers i am 14%. i would use the normal mode majority of the time (athletic is someone who has low body fat or highly active) or just use calipers as it gives a more acurate number :)

BF% is wrong


Unfortunately, it's the scale, but it's not broken. It simply is telling you inaccurate information.
Some scales utilize Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) technology. BIA uses very low levels of electrical impulses running from one metal contact point/lead to another. Your body acts as the connector between the two contact points, thus completing the circuit. Not all scales use this means for calculating body fat percentage due to poor reliability and high fabrication costs.This method of measurement requires very large contact points, as well as clean and moist skin exposure. If you have dry/calluced feet, which is normal for most Americans, the sensors can not accurately measure due to skin resistance. Dry skin acts as a resistor to electrical impulse. Electricity passes through muscle and fat at different rates. However, its measurements may be thrown off by how hydrated you are and how much you've eaten; it may be too inaccurate for anything other than comparative use. Users are encouraged to establish a baseline measurement and repeat measurements under consistent conditions over time to detect changes.
Many less expensive models simply use a body-fat calculator to average your imputed height in inches, waist measurement in inches and the current weight measurement recorded in lbs. The scale compares your measurement with the ideal norms inputed during the manufactoring process, thus giving you a comparison vs.imputed norms. People who are very, very fit can get numbers 3 to 5 percent higher than their true percent body fat. Because they don't have a lot of fat inside their muscles(visceral fat), the simple tape measure calculation test cannot adjust as it should indicate.
Conversely, if a person is skinny but not fit, this body fat test may yield a number 3 to 5 percent lower than his or her true percent body fat. Though they look thin, unfit skinny people really have more than the usual amount of fat inside their muscles, which you can't see from the outside.
In either case, the scale is not necessary a measurement tool, due to high variables of test inaccuracy and interuser reliabilty; but, it is a good tool for comparing whether or not you are gaining/losing body fat.
If you would like a more accurate tool for simply measuring your body fat, you can pick up some pinch-calipers online for about the price of a scale. They come with an instructional pamphlet, very easy to use.
