Re: My computer won't recognize my Sansa Connect MP3...
What i would recommend you to do is to uninstall the device and
reinstall it back...to uninstall it...assuming that you are running windows xp...click on start, right click on my computer and go to properties..you should have your system properties open then click under hardware
then device manager...look for the sansa device..it usually located
under portable device..if its not showing there i would recommend you
to look for under disk drives
and see if its there..right click on the device and click on
uninstall...after you unintall it unplug your device from the
computer....Then follow this link below to download
.Then check the mode of yuor device to make sure it sunder MTP not
msc...To check the mode go under menu, settings and choose usb mode...After you check the mode open up your windows media
player click on tools, options and click under privacy...clear the
history and caches...after you finish you can plug the device on the
back of the computer not the front then windows should recongnize it and it should work properly..if that doesnt solve the problems upgrade your windows media player
to 11 even though you have done that already..and try to reconnect your
device..make sure you have it connected on the back USB>>>
And if that doesnt work try to obtain the driver for your sandisk device go to http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/index.asp and find the driver for your device..and then connecct the device on the back of your computer...it should work properly..if you are still having any problems..let me know..i would be more than happy to assist you.. Please rate accordingly Thank you Computerrep

Sansa Not Recognized: Try connecting it to another computer the back straight to the motherboard thIs should be USB 2.0 and see if it will recognize it as sansa or Drive/removable drive. if it does then download the sansa update software and install it. Make sure you disconnect the sansa and connect it when asked. This will update your sansas firmware and add the Usb Mode. Try to connect it to your computer at home it should recognize IF not try a laptop.... link for update software (http://mp3support.sandisk.com/sansa/Installer/1082/SansaUpdaterInstall.exe) download to a flash drive much easier. Make sure USB mode is MSC Recovery Mode may also allow your computer to recognize the sansa

do u have windows or mac system? if mac, Although MAC OS is NOT a supported operating
system, the Sansa player can still be recognized if the Sansa player
is only plugged in MSC mode.
MAC computers do NOT support MTP
A Sansa player in MTP mode when plugged into a MAC computer will NOT be detected or recognized.
MAC computers supports Sansa players in MSCmode
Sansa players can only be recognized by a MAC if the USB mode on the Sansa player is set to Auto Detect or MSC.
See answer ID 207 for instructions on how to put your Sansa player in MSC mode.
See answer ID 1141 for instructions on transferring music to your Sansa player using iTunes on a MAC computer.
I had the same problem with my Sansa Connect. It refused to start up when connecting to my computer. I think it may have something to do with not refreshing my music every so often. I tried the Recovery Tool, but it did absolutely nothing. Same problem was still there. So, I did a factory reset and it worked. No problems. I would recommend refreshing music regularly to avoid this problem.
