Need yamaha codes to program into uverse tv ir remote

I am trying to program my AT&T U-verse IR TV remote to also operate my Yamaha RX-V800 AV Receiver but can only get it to turn off. Can anyone tell me the proper yamaha code(s) to turn the receiver both on and off?

(I have the RX-V659). Because the Yamaha remote has TWO SEPARATE buttons - power ON and power OFF (standby). This problem can't be fixed. There's a code to choose power ON and another code for power OFF. But one button can't be two buttons. Bad engineering\ design by Yamaha in my opinion

You have to use the codes in the database of your universal remote. If you've tried all the codes in your manual, does your universal do code search? if not, go to your universal remotes manufacturer's website, and look for additional codes not listed in your manual. Every manufacturer is different, meaning a sony remote might have a code of 3434 to control a yamaha, while a samsung remote would have a code of 6871 to control the same yamaha. They are make and model specific (univ remotes). Hope this points you in the right direction. If you can't find anything, post the exact make and model number of your univ. remote and I will look as well.

How do I reset my remote for my Yamaha natural sound AV receiver RX V 371 the remote just stopped working one day it has fresh batteries still no response between receiver and remotethough the light is...

By your description of "light is flashing on the remote" I will assume the "function" LED on the actual remote, as the infrared (IR) LED light spectrum used to communicate with the receiver is invisible to the human eye. Let's try "simple" first. Is there something blocking the IR pickup device on the front of the RX-V371 receiver? It may be difficult to locate the pickup window and-so make sure the entire front of receiver is unobstructed. Also, IR remotes are a "line-of-sight" type device and must have an unobstructed view of the device being controlled.

Yamaha RX-V800 shuts down when any control button is pressed

What if you DON'T use the remote? Does it shut down when just using it?

If SO, you have a bigger problem.

If NOT, it sounds like the remote is hosed - sending a code to shut off.

Do you have another remote of any brand that you could set to do something simple, like change volume? Don't train it from the original, though, or it would do the same thing.

Yamaha RX-v800 av receiver will not power up. Was playing and just shut off & will not powere up again. Was in a stereo/tv cabinet with closed glass doors. Cabinet compartment has vent holes in back....

Mine did the same thing two days ago. No reason to suspect overheat as mine is in the open. Could be the power supply? Mine comes on after sitting for a while.

No picture from wii

The RX-V800 switches the various video signal types separately.
Since you are feeding S-Video to the TV the composite (yellow) input from your Wii is not going anywhere.
If you cant get S-Video output from the Wii then I'd suggest a simple Composite to S-video adaptor plug ($5 say). It worked for me with a Game Cube.

Yamaha RX-V800 Composite Video Signal Problem

Hey there fontdude, I will begin assuming you are running your a/v cable into your receiver and then out to the TV or Monitor. If this is the case, I suggest you run the video cable direct from DVD or VCR device to Tv/monitor. You can still run the audio through your receiver. The nature of your problem was probably related to video signal strength being weakened as it ran through your receiver. Good Luck! Let me know how it works for you.

Yamaha rx-v800 remote control's damaged

it can be accessed via the main unit controls but you need to go through your manuals. Maybe you can get your remote repaired still... maybe not badly damaged caused by corrosion.
