Hello. Sony will do the free exchange/repair if the warranty hasn't expired. Since it's an original 60GB from 2006 they will most likely turn you down and offer to repair/replace the unit for $150 (US).
If there are no lights on at all then it is a bad componant inside the power supply, which can be replaced fairly easily. If lights come on in this sequence....green, yellow, red followed by 3 beeps then your system isn't easily repairable and you would be better off paying the $150. Thanks!
