Question about Lexmark X75 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

When I go to turn on the computer/printer the printer sounds like it is stalling while turning on. It does make a loud clunking noise when I turn it on. I am able to print some things but it doesn't always print a full page. My black ink cartiage is full, but the color grid is gray with a question mark. We can not see anything in the printer as far as paper clips etc. Thank you Kim

Your case sounds like the cartridge driving probem
1) check the cartridge driving bell is right on the way, and check the bell no gears damage, need to change if any damage
2) fill oil on the cartridge rail to make it lubricated
3) check the bell sensor open side cover to find out all sensors are in the right position and click normal,

Machine made loud 'clunking sound' and stopped. Notice appeared to switch off and try again. Notice then said cannot cut paper.

Check that your cutting module has not fallen out of it's holder. I had this issue the other day and the cutting module had just fallen off the printhead.

Soon after initiating printing, Canon s400 printer stops with a loud clunk. This produces Error 5100. Turning off and on again does not help.

Hi You can Try

Error Code 5100 This happens lots in caon
Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

I have a Dell A920 printer. Carriage stall error

Try this trick. Turn off the printer, reach in and manually move the carriage to the other side of the printer. Then, unplug it, plug er in and try again. If that doesn't work then it's most likely a dead unit.

Clanking noise when printing from tray 1

if your getting this noise on every print job the fuser is usually the cause if they have been running on a bit hot they will get flat spots on the pressure roller and it will create a loud kind of clunking sound real common on lexmark lasers. it can also be an envelope setting on some lexmark lasers they have a solonoid for envelope feeding if the envelope inhancment is ingaged in the menu thiscan also cause such a noise

HP 2410 printer won't boot up, just makes a clunking sound.

Someone just had a similar problem.
Unplug your printer for a few hours.
Plug it back in and the problem clear.

Stalled printer cartridges

Sounds like an issue with the print carriage. When it's out of alignment and tries to print, it can make awful noises. HP.com has a web page that describes a number of troubleshooting steps when you have print carriage issues:

Carriage Jam Errors

There's also a related web page having to do with the noise coming from the printer:

Noisy Print Carriage

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Canon Pixma MP530 clicking

it is nothing to do with a phone jack, trust me this sounds like internal crunching and munching... but as reported by the others, no jams, no printing errors, just loud clicking and clunking!

Oki C9500 makes VERY LOUD clunking noises but prints fine...

The sound is most probably from one (or more) of the drum units. You can check by taking them out and trying to run the visible gears by hand. If you have spare drums, change them one at a time until you find the defective one.
