Re: NOT PRINTING IN COLOR
Could have a corrupt driver. Disconnect
the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do
both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer
to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

It seems print head clogged, this issue not related with cartridge, perform clean print heads 3-4 times & chk, if no result replace the print head (CN642A).. I won't suggest for manual cleaning for this print head unit.. Thanks for listening me..
Step First - Alignment, if refilled cartiridge there is air bubbles, pull out all inks by seperated injections & Reriffle, 3- paper setting - photo paper glossy, high quality, & get approx 150-200 sheets photo prints (mention help canon error help E5) your cartiridge not short still working after it, when colors invariants use only plain paper standard quality setting. pls vote
Need one plastic plate that you don't care much about, or a plastic disposable plate.
Tear off one section from a paper towel roll and roll it up into about a 1-inch diameter roll.
Flatten the roll
Soak the flattened roll in warm water
Lay the flattened roll down on the plate
Place the nozzle area of the ink cartridge directly against the wet paper towel
Fold the flattened roll as needed to support the ink cartridge so it stands upright.
The trick here is to make sure the cartridge is supported upright so the nozzles come in full contact with the wet towel surface.
The wet towel acts as a wick to soften and draw out the ink.
After awhile, you shoudl see a kaleidoscope of colors on the paper towel. This indicates the nozzles have been opened up and the ink is flowing. Try to print and see what happens.
Repeat as needed.
Try this procedure: 1. Open printer lid so cartridges move to center of carriage.
2. Lift clamp and remove black or color cartridge from the holder.
3. Place cartridge on table with copper contact strip facing you.
4. Carefully place a strip of clear plastic tape over the four contacts on the upper left corner of the cartridge.
5. Reinstall cartridge in printer and close lid. Wait until cartridge returns to parking position.
6. Open lid and remove cartridge again. Remove tape from left side and
place tape over four contacts at upper right corner of cartridge.
7. Reinstall cartridge in printer and close lid. Wait until cartridge returns to parking position again.
8. Open lid again, remove cartridge, remove tape.
9. Reinstall cartridge and close lid.
Printer will now recalibrate. Once the process is complete the ink level meter should be reading full again.
I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.
You can't reset the ink level on all Canon Pixma printers. You need to turn off the function on printer to show the ink level. On your printer this happen with push consistently buttons for black copy (for turn of level on black cartridge) and color copy (for turn of level in color cartridge). The printer shows empty cartridges but it will printing.
Something is wrong with your Blach carrier or connections. Use a bit of alcohol and clean the array of gold contacts where the Ink cartridge plugs in. Most of the pins are shutter and piezo control (get the ink on paper) but a few do other stuff like check ink level, # of hours runtime, etc. This is very common problem with inkjet printers. Hope this helps. Also... rub the contacts on the printhead with a pencil eraser to make them shiny and bright.
Maybe you can try to rest the black ink level 1st. To reset the ink level: 1) Goto the Lexmark Solution Center application. 2)
Press button Maintenance>Install a new print cartridge, follow the
instruction on screen. U may then have your new full ink level. Note: u
only can reset to full level, cannot customize the level by your own. Hope this help.
I would imagine that you are printing in black more than you realize. The color inks tend to last longer because they are not normally used as much. Also when you print in color you are always using the black ink to make the correct colors. So every print that you have, whether it be black only or color only, the printer is using the black ink to make the colors. I work in a copier business and printer business and this is a highly asked question. Hope this was of some help.
pls make sure that there is no error in blk cartridge nor ther any warning symbol, ensure as well that you have installed corrctly and you can see the presence of the blk ink on your console. in other areas pls check when printing on the printer properties and select blk to identify what is the real prob.
