I am assuming you are talking about the piece that freely rotates and comes down on the dvd to hold it down against the motor that actually turns. Yes most tv repair shops can repair that, because I know that I could. That particular part is almost the same in any model dvd or cd player for that matter. How they mount or attached is the only slight difference. But it is definitely fixable. God bless.

The support piece that holds the DVD disc in place may have come loose, however if it plays fine I would leave well enough alone unless you have a professional look at it.

I went to buy a new battery for remote . Somehow I lost the little plastic piece that holds the battery . Can this piece be purchased or will I need to buy a whole new remote ?

It is diffficult to purrchase this piece but what can be done is to cut out a similar piece of plastic from worn out parts or sheets , shape it well and fix just on the top holding with one strip of good masking/insulation tape,
this will serve the purpose excpet you are lucky to get one from a damaged remote.

I need to know as well. I had the type where you push down and 3 clips retract. When you let go it hold the dvd in place.

Can you manually release a DVD from the Panasonic S32? The DVD player 'died' - with a CD inside. The instructions are silent on a manual solution.

Hi there,

Well you can please follow the below steps -
1. Unplug the DVD player and take the outer casing of the DVD player off. This entails either taking out two or three screws or simply sliding one of the pieces of plastic in either direction.
2. Locate the disc loader cover. The disc loader cover is located where the extending DVD tray finally comes to rest within the DVD player. It's the part that holds the DVD loader in place.
3. Bend the two tabs outward that hold the loader in place. This is a delicate procedure because you don't want to hurt the device. The tabs are relatively easy to break since they're plastic in most cases.
4. Slide the disc tray out. If your disc got stuck before it was read, it's probably still on this tray. If so, your problem is solved. However, if the disc was fully set and loaded, the job isn't quite finished yet.
5. Move the small mechanical arm that holds the disc in place over so that the disc and the reader are both exposed. Some DVD players will not have anything holding the disc in place. Instead, these devices use a system not unlike that of a common DVD case. The DVD will be locked in place in the center.
6. Carefully lift the disc up and out of its loaded position in the DVD player. This may entail sliding the disc reading mechanism over slightly. This won't hurt the device as long as you're careful. You should be able to access and remove the disc.

Good Luck!!

DVD doesn't spin

The spindle motor could be burned out. If so, it's not worth repairing unless you could find on ebay an equivalent unit and change the part yourself.
