Question about QuarkXPress 6.5

1 Answer

Unexpected end of file encountered (-39)

Most of my files do this but some older do not. I know it's going to happen when a curved arrow appears in lower left corner of the file icon as it appears in the Quark file screen bar listing name of the file while the file is open.

You are trying to open a "Shortcut" to a now "unlinked file".
You need to find the original copy, probablt sitting in a folder somewhere.
Do a search for the same file name. You will probably end up with several. Find the actual QXP document, and trash the Shortcuts.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

WinRar Unexpected end of archive.

There are few reasons for gettingunexpected end of archive RARerror; you usually encounter this error when you start a downloading process and after downloading few GBs (gigabytes) or MBs (megabytes), it stops and displays a message as download complete.
Given below are the steps which might help you in recovering some files from your corrupted RAR archive:
·Download RAR Fix Toolbox software and install the software to your computer desktop/laptop
https://www.fixtoolbox.com/rarfix.html
·Launch the repair application and stick to the procedure
·Hit the "Browse" button to choose the RAR file which is to be repaired
·Initialize the repair process by clicking on "Repair" button
·The program starts the repair process
·Monitor the repair process via progress bar
·After finishing the repair process, the tool displays all the files and folders from the RAR file
·Click on "Next" button
·Finally, save the repaired files to your desired destination location by making use of "Save" option'

End of File Error encountered (-39)

By chance did you save docs to external backup, if not do so and continue to do so.

it would better if you try a reinstall of the programme, better still download latest update, hopefully that will resolve. Glitch

Picked up my motorola defy yesterday, how do i tape a song and set it to my ringtone

Create a folder named 'ringtones' (without the quotes) on the root of your memory card, and copy the song you want to set as ringtone to that folder. Then, go to 'Menu > Settings > Sound > Phone ringtone'. The song you copied should be available to be selected.
You can set specific ringtones (sound files you copy to that folder, or any system sounds) to the people in your contact list who happen to call you most. This way you would know whos is calling you without even looking at your phone. Anyway, go to 'Contacts', select the contact entry you want to have his/her specific ringtone changed (you can press the search button and type his/her name), and tap 'Menu > Edit'. Slide to the end of the screen and tap the arrow at the right of 'Additional info'. The arrow will face down. Slide to the end of the screen again, and select 'Ringtone'. After selecting the ringtone, tap 'Save'.
Hope you find these informations useful, somehow.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you any further.
Regards, Carlos

File will not open - ?Unexpected end-of-file encountered?

I had this problem also. Found software from MarkzTools to recover Quark files. You may also want to try having someone with Quark 7 see if they can open the file.

The difference between manual and automatic synchronization is very important. If you’re ever wondering why you computer added files to your device when you didn’t want it to, or why it deleted files unexpectedly, then there is a good chance that you have automatic synchronization activated. Manual synchronization allows you to only add/delete only those files that you want to keep or discard.

To disable auto-sync in Windows Media Player 10:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/howto/sync_how_to.aspx

To disable auto-sync in Windows Media Player 11:

My Directions:

1. Connect your mp3 player to the computer

2. Open Windows Media Player

3. Run the mouse cursor over the Sync tab – a little black arrow should appear under the word “Sync”

4. Click on the little arrow and a drop-down menu should appear

5. Select “Set Up Sync” in the drop-down menu

6. Uncheck the box that says “Sync this device automatically”
