DS touchscreen too sensitive/prone to favoring one side

Hello, I have a DS Lite that I bought refurbished, and I noticed a month ago that it had a tendency to drag things to the upper left corner of the screen when I move things on that side - I noticed this with Ace Attorney, annoying but not game stopping.

Then I started to play "World Ends With You" - it played fine, but suddenly - yesterday, the thing went completely wonky, it goes to the left side of the screen almost exclusively and was so sensitive that just moving my hand an inch over the screen caused Neku to move around in the general direction. When I do manage to get into the options screen, it favors the tin slam game - and I'm stuck in a loop when I try to exit, it throws me right back in, and rearranging pins is impossible since it will get 'stuck' over certain pins.

Now when I turn it on, the system automatically goes into pictochat unless I press down on my desire option immediately.

I tried to recailburate it six times and having difficulty getting a proper response every time. Even I got it down, it still does this.

I went to look for an obstruction, and clean it via toothbrush as per Nintendo's instruction. It will work fine for a while, but it will drag to that side again.

I haven't open the system, I did as nintendo said (push down on the touch screen and brush with a toothbrush). I am currently seein if my DS is under the extended warranty I had bought, but if I cannot get it fixed via that source, I will keep you in mind, Ninjafreak.

    Thanks

there may be an obstruction in the upper left hand corner under the screen cover, this causes the "drag" to that spot.

Ok, Here is your solution then. I don't like to work on systems that have already been opened but I will help you out. it seems to me that you have a weak spot in your touch screen. I have many brand new touch screens in stock and it will take me about 30 mins to replace it. You can ship it to me with a check/money order for $25 and I will replace the screen for you. I'll test it to make sure it absolutely works 110% and I'll pay for the return shipping to you. I know you may be skiddish of getting your DS stolen from you due to scam artists and such. I assure you that this is not a scam, simply a business transaction. I am willing to take pictures of my in stock parts and give you my drivers license number if needed to prove that I am reliable. I get people on the internet all the time wanting them fixed but never ship them due to skepticism. I hope that you understand where I am comeing from and that I have not lost you with the length of this comment.
Thanks,
Josh Boyer

The power is very sensitive and if some pressure is exherted close to the lettered buttons it shuts off or turns on the device (ds lite)

Could be a manufacturer's error. If it is, and you recently bought the thing, you should be able to get a new one for free. Check your manual and look for the manufacturer's policy and contact them. If it's your fault, just be sensitive.

Reseating Touch Screen Ribbon Cables

The cable for the touchscreen is one with 4 conductors that connect directly to the overlay on the face of the LCD. The flat ribbon connector on the main board is quite delicate. The three connectors for the bottom screen are on the right side of the component side of the DS phat board. The touchscreen is labeled P6. On the DS Lite, the connector is closer to the R button.

DS Lite Touch Screen does not respond to touch

on the top right hand side of the screen just under the front there are four or five contact pads this is where the touch screen get the info from the touch screen to the ds itself if you have taken the ds apart maybe the pads are slightly out of line this can be fixed by applying light pressure to the pads to make them stick down and get a proper contact
