Is your other drive an external or an internal drive??? If external then attach it to the USB port and see it as an additional drive in My Computer. Then you can use it as any other drive.
If an internal drive then you will have to purchase an adapter that can take this drive and get connected to the PC/laptop to through the USB port. Again visible on My Computer as additional drive and can be used such.
You just need to connect the Lexar 1Hb to the USB port on your computer and let the computer recognize it and then after that double click Mycomputer and you should see there the Lexar , just double click on it and now you can copy and paste music from your computer to the Lexar...
The USB mode uses a file transfer class called the MSC (Mass Storage Class). This was developed as a way for files to be transferred onto an external drive such as a flash drive or an external hard drive. In this mode, your mp3 player will look and function like an external hard drive in that it will appear in My Computer as a separate drive.
This transfer class is not very specific to the transfer of media files so the MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) was introduced. The difference with media files, specifically music files, is that they demand much more management. Downloading services can require special licensing and a limit on the number of playbacks a music file can have. The acquisition, restoration, updating, and backing up of these licenses as well as compatibility issues with file type and compression ratio within these digital music players demanded a more user-friendly and functional approach to file transfers.
For this reason, you will need to have Windows Media Player 10 or 11 available on your computer to utilize MTP. Those who have Windows Media Player 9 on their Windows 98 SE, Windows Millennium Edition, and Windows 2000 operating system will need to update using our Download Center. We recommend the use of MTP over MSC (the USB mode on your player) because it is more specific to the transfer of music files. To change this setting, press the button on the top of your player marked M
If you have your music and pictures on one hard drive, and transfer it to the external hard drive connected by usb:
1) Connect external hard drive
2) Select the files you want to move.
3) Right click on one of them, and choose cut.
4) Go into the external drive, and choose paste. (They will start to move over.
5) To see pictures, you will right click in the picture folder and choose view. Select large icons. That should work. Also you could choose view from the top, and select pictures.
May be there is virus either in the harddisk or in the MP3 player due to this the firmware might have got corrupted ....
There is a more chances to the presence of virus in your harddisk & then it might have got transferred to the MP3 player too ... so i recommend you to just install & scan your harddisk with the good antivirus & first of all remove all viruses present in the harddisk .. & then insert your MP3 player ...scan your MP3 player(as it appears as the drive when you connect to pc) with the antivirus & remove it & then format it...
After this if you try transferring music you will be successful in transferring it ...
(As i think the virus may be some trojan ... so when ever you connect any memory device it will also get attacked with the trojan this is about the trojan ... so by this you might not be able to transfer music ...)
thank you any further queries reply me i am always here to assist you thank you ...
