Hi Kenno23 - have you tried a standard head cleaning cycle and nozzle check? If so,what was the result. If not, try it. If you don't know how to, simply right-click the printer icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, and select "Head Clean". After this has finished select "Nozzle Check". Let me know how you get on, or if you've tried all this with no success, let me know exactly what you have tried.

How do you clean the print head?

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

Getting streaking when printing with Canon Pixma MP610. Read somewhere Printer Head needs cleaning, If so, how do you remove It? pkoaktown

Look on your PC. There is a maintenance menu for this printer. Follow instructions to do the head cleaning. If that is not enough you can remove your printer print head and try to clean it with dry cloth or with some kind of alcohol.
good luck

My printer will not print black but is printing all other colours ok

Possible that the B/W cartridge is not contacting or is blocked. remove and fit back. Now remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . It is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the command , can be an issue with ink drying , can also be poor ink cartridge contacts

My Canon ink jets are blocked an need to fix this quickly

Run the printer's Maintenance program and run Deep Cleaning.

Do a print check after each clean as this uses a lot of ink to clean and you don't want to continue after you get a good print result.

Good Luck.
