SOURCE: Ryobi PCN 4040 will not start up

When I was going to college I worked at a tool rental center and learned may tricks about tools. At this rental center chainsaws were seasonal thus sat in the warehouse probably as in your situation. Well one is supposed to store a chainsaw without any fuel and discard any old fuel mix because it will not keep. To easily start a saw that was in storage we would install a new spark plug, add fresh fuel mix and spray carburetor cleaner directly into the carbureter to get it started. Once started fresh fuel would be drawn into the engine from the tank and keep running. If you forgot to drain the old fuel, do it now and use the trick above. For best results, always use a fresh plug. Enjoy

SOURCE: i have a brand new ryobi c4618 chainsaw. only used couple times. well chain came off and i put it back on but it doesnt move. almost like brake on but its not. any ideas?

When the chain comes off it will damage the drive links ( burr the sides ) if the burrs are not removed the chain will be tight in the bar grove and stop it moving, you need to file the damaged drive links, or replace the chain

Ryobi C4618 chainsaw worked great for two years, sat for a year. Fresh premium gas, fresh chain oil, fresh spark plug. Getting no spark. Ignition coil? Oil cut out?

check switch first then coil. Use a multimeter and set the positive lead of the multimeter in position where the spark plug would usually insert
ensure it has made good contact. Place the negative lead onto the metal body of the ignition coil. A working ignition
coil will give a reading of between 2.5 - 5 k ohms. Hope this helps.

My Ryobi 4545 Chainsaw started but would not tick over. Now won't start at all.

Check your anti kick back bar across the top. If you bumped it forward will not start.

New Ryobi petrol c/saw wont start.

If it is brand new, sounds like you should return it for the retailer to have repaired.

Ryobi battery chainsaw 10" - How do I tighten the chain?

loosen the two nuts that hold the chain cover on. Once they are just loose, then use a flat blade screw driver to turn the slot that you see right next to the base of the chain. Once the chain is tight, retighten the two nuts.
