Question about Sub-Zero 611 / S

1 Answer

Freezer evap fan vibration and noise

The freezer evap fan is vibrating and making noise

It seems to be gradually getting worse

The motor/fan assembly was replaced TWICE under warranty two years ago for the same reason

Shouldn't this component last longer than two years?

Any recommendations other than calling a service company?

I suggest you unplug the frige and clean the blades of the fan of any dirt. If the fan is mounted with bolts through rubber gromets or washers take a caulk gun with 100% silicone and shoot silicone into these gromets or washers filling any voids between the bolts and rubber. Allow enough time to dry and see if this helps. please rate me

I hear a higher pitched solenoid buzzing for about 10 seconds every 30 minutes or so. It is a new sound and it seems to be coming from the lower right side of the fridge but I don't notice any...

is your ice maker hooked up?if no water is going to the ice maker and the arm is down it will buzz.also check the fans one in the freezer and one in the rear for the compressor and condenser, maybe a piece of paper is hitting the fan blade when the fan starts or it could be vibration in the frame, ytou can remove the bottom kickplate and you say every half hour or so it makes the sound and listen to see if you can pinpoint the noise, when you open the freezer door the evap fan will run,you can check that fan motor like that.you have to do a little detective work to find the noise but if the ice maker isn't hooked up to the water source and the arm is down it will buzz.good luck.

Westinghouse virtuoso fridge is noisy after leaving the freezer door open several hours

Hi,

First analyze from where you are getting the sound.
1)Check the fan at the back side of the freezer. Is it making noise.Remove it and put some oil so it will rotate without sound.Check for the bending and straighten it and see it
doesn't hit on body.

2)compressor motor may vibrating a lot making noise to the condenser coils. It makes the full fridge to vibrate and makes noise.Adhesive stickers will soften them.If still problem persist coil could be damaged.

post a comment for further assistance.
Thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)

Loud humming noise (vibration) from freezer section when running. Amana refrigerator (freezer on bottom) model BC21VW

Remove the back panel and see if the fan is turning. You will need it in the running cycle with the door switch closed. The noise your hearing is probally the fan assembly AP4008960. Make sure it is mounted tight and the back panel is not rubbing or loose. If the fan is making noise with the panel removed replace.

Sounds like the plastics are just rubbing from vibration. redistribute the contents of the drawer and see what that does. Good Luck.

GE top freezer refrigerator: motor has become very loud and refrigerator vibrates. However, when I move the cold control to a lower number, it gets slightly quieter and vibrates slightly less.

Hi,

Please make sure it is level, the compressor is designed to run on level ground. Also check the fans. if the fan is bad or the bearings are shot, it'll vibrate and make a loud humming noise.

Find out where the noise is loudest. if it's under the fridge, it's the compressor. You have to check the coil for the compressor and if it's inside the freezer, it's the fan bearing.

Please leave me comment, if you need further assistance

Ice builds up in freezer, and vibration noise only when freezer is closed. When freezer open vibration noise stops. starts when pressing the switch which turns off the light.

Replace the fan motor AND blade . ( evaporator fan motor ) . This motor is located inside the freezer , behind the rear panel . The switch , is a fan/light switch , when closed , turns on fan , and light off . When open , light on , and fan off . normal operation .

Blower fan in the freezer is making a vibrating

only if the fan noise is driving you crazy. the noise is probaly the motor starting to go out. you can replace it. it might save you money in the long run to replace it, if it goes out you could run into bad food in your fridge.
