What you need is a free opensource program called http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/download.htm

This is actually a skin based on the opensource video conversion program Mencoder (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MEncoder).

I have the settings at home but I think they were these:
Video settings: frames per second (FPS) 24 or 25, 600 KPBS
format Xvid, container AVI,
Picture settings: 320 x 240 - check the cropper settings you want
In the audio use the Lame MP3 settings no more then 44100 hz (probably 33,000).
If this doesn't work poast a message and I will get you the correct settings.

I can download music to it but all the mpeg4 wont play and most files are mpeg4 what to do and why wont it play mpeg4?

please make sure that first the video format is mpeg4(mp4). second, please make sure that the video quality is appropriate for your mp3 device's viewing screen. if a video is in 480x360 format and a you have a screen that is 360x280, it will not play because its screen does not have the pixel capacity to do so. so please make sure that the video quality is appropriate for your device.

Help me on how to upload videos on ipod nan silver digital player third generation

Mpeg 4 format will work on Nanos. In fact I record my video podcasts in that format. I can give you the link to test it.

Be careful of anything encoded into a different format other than Mpeg4. You might be able to see the video but the audio will not play due to the fact that the Ipod can't read the encryption.

How do you convert video to work on the PVR-H140?

The PVR h140 works on mpeg1 or mpeg4 format. If you need to convert avi files for example you will need a third party conversion programme such as Nero7 or similair free programmes. Check here for a 'how to' page. http://www.sharewareguide.net/article/Guide/guide:how-to-convert-video-to-mpeg4,-such-as-avi-to-mpeg4,-mpeg-to-mpeg4-and-vob-to-mpeg4-with-this-mpeg4-converter.html
