Question about LG 37LC7D 37 in. LCD HDTV

1 Answer

I have an LG 37LC2D LCD TV that is locked.

All of the buttons on the side of the TV work perfectly. The remote is not able to control anything but the remore works perfectly on another identical set in another room. How do I unlock the set without the remote?

Bad filters on the main board or a bad AUX REMOTE jack on the back of the unit (also part of the main board) are the cause of this problem.

Try plugging in any jack that will fit into the AUX REMOTE jack on the back and then pulling it back out. This may fix the problem or remove any dust that may have collected in the jack. If this jack has something plugged into it (or goes bad) the TV will no longer have remote control operation (because it thinks an external remote box is being used). If this does not work then the main board will need replaced.

Note, many repair techs will think the IR board is bad (the Infra-Red Receiver board) at the front of the TV, but this is usually not the case with this model.

Hope this helps, please rate my solution.

Controls for LG TV 37LC2D don't work

Take a good look at the owner manual for this set, either the control board is not plugged in or what is more likely is the set has a lockout feature for that board.

Some sets now have a panel control lockout and even a remote lockout or both.

its likely locked (the controls) out.

"I have LG 37LC2D TV,when I turn the power on remote controlled or manually it immediately powers off. Is this an issue with the on/off switch inside the tv and how can remedy the problem?"

I have an LG as well.
My troublshooing says:
"Check the power control setting. The power supply may be interupted.
Check if the Auto sleep feature is actiated in the Time settings.
Refer to the " Sleep timer".
If there is no signal while the TV is on, the TV will turn off automatically after 15 miutes or so"

None of Tv controls on side of tv will not work and remote will not work

MAY HAVE A STUCK BUTTON SUGGEST PRESSING EACH BUTTON HARD AND SEE IF ANYTHING CHANGES. THE MAIN MICRO PROCESSOR IN THE TV WILL RESPOND TO BUTTON COMMANDS BEFORE ALL ELSE SO IF THERE IS A STUCK BUTTON NO OTHER BUTTONS WILL WORK AND IT WILL NOT RESPOND TO THE REMOTE.

Lg 37lc2d problem with a loss of image on the sides, the image is bigger than the screen...how to fix?Only with digital signal

Look on your remote for a button that might say "picture size" or 'format". This button should scroll through the choices of picture size. If there is not one on the remote, then you will need to look in "Set up" in the User Menu and find a similar category to change the size.

Lg lcd tv 37lc2d no headphones socket - how do i connect headphones?

You can purchase a cable to connect to the Audio Out ports on the back of the TV. It will have 2 RCA connectors on one side that plugs into the TV and a 1/4" stereo jack on the other end that you will connect your headphones to. You could even pickup a pair of wireless headphones... they will have a volume control on them! I hope this helps.

LG TV no longer responds to the remote control.. Manual use of buttons on the side works fine... model 37LC2D worked fine last night... directv remote which was working will also not not have any...

I have had the exact same problem with my 47LG70 after 13 months of use. I changed my remote control sensor but it did not help. Before you do that, try something simple which seems irrelevant. On this website, others have posted success by plugging in any standing set of headphones into the remote control or headphone jack on the rear TV panel. This solved my problem. So I proceeded to thoroughly dust all of the input/output component jacks on the rear and side of the TV with an air-can. This solved my problem and I do not need to have the headphones plugged in. So try these two things before changing the sensor.

My remote control doesn't work for lg tv model # 37lc2d

have you tried and see if the led is flashing wile looking through a camera on a mobile phone ? this will tell if the remote is faulty.

if its not flashing then open up remote and look for bad joints/connections etc.

the most common is around the led sender and the xtal unit.
