Lights wont turn off on fridge

The lights on the fridge won't trun off when the doors are shut. Switches are good as when the doors are shut, I can hear the fans run and they turn off when the doors are open.

SOURCE: fridge section runs warm. Freezer ok it seems.

Sounds like the inside fan is getting worn out. Should vary in speed. Try replacing the fan and see if that fixes it. I'd bet it will. ken

SOURCE: Inside top of refrigerator hot light don't turn off.

There is a service bulletin related to this, dealing with deformation / melting of the lamp cover. The fix is to change the lamp wire harness to one that now has a thermal protector incorporated in it (part number 6621JK2003B) along with changing the main PCB board to one that uses a larger relay for this function (part number 6871JB1423N).

In case you want or need to replace the following,
The lamp cover is part number 3110JA1096A and the lamp holder is part number 3034JA1009A

I tried to cut and paste a few photo's, but was unsuccessful. Sorry. Make sure to test that fans and light switches work after part changes.

Fridge light won't turn off..does that mean the fridge has stopped working or only the light needs to be fixed? Can tell it's not cooling as much as it used to.

The light is usually a seperate circuit to the fridge compressor and it staying on is more likely to be a faulty switch than the fridge not working. Open the door and look around the perifery of the door opening, there should be a spring loaded plastic part that pushes in when the door is shut and springs out as you open the door. Try manually pushing it in and see if the light goes off, if it doesn't then the switch behind it may have become dilogded in it's housing or broken. Turn off the power to the fridge, unscrew the housing, re-position the switch or replace it, re-fit the housingturn on the power and test.

My sub zero 690 has the fridge & freezer light out as well as the screen

Well the most likely cause is 2 bad door switches, though I rarely see the door switch go bad in the freezer. At the top of the door openings you will see 2 switches in the freezer and the fridge. If you pull down the grille and remove the cover over those switches, the light switch will be the one with the white back, and the fan switch will be the one with the black back. I would try changing the switch in the fridge, and maybe start in the freezer by changing at least 1 bulb before blaming the switch. If that 1 new bulb doesn't light, change that switch too.

Interior lights won't shut off

one of your door jamb switches probably needs adjustment because it is not coming into contact with the door; usually the driver's door as that one gets used most often. these switches can be usually adjusted to be longer so it contacts the door again.3_8_2013_5_20_44_pm.png

Hello
There are switches in the door, check to be sure the wire didn't get broken otherwise it's most likely a bad switch there.

You don't find much with the door jamb switches any longer. Its all done inside the door with the switches being on the door latch.

The interior lights wont turn off. they melted the old light bracket so i replaced it and the lights still wont go out

It sounds like you have a switch that isn't closing when the door shuts. I'm not overly familiar with the LG's, but looking at the Sears Parts Direct site, it looks like the door switches are in the hinge covers on top of the unit. There should be two of them, one for each door. But, only one has to not be working to keep the light on. The first thing I would check is to make sure the hinge cover isn't loose or out of position. The switch should close when the door closes. If the hinge cover moves, then the switch won't close. If everything is tight and aligned, then one of the switches is bad. That can be checked with a volt meter that does continuity checks. Unplug the unit before checking because those wires should be hot at all times. If you don't have a meter and want to do trial and error, just buy one switch since they both are the same. Here is the parts diagram showing the switch locations and part numbers:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/LG-Parts/Refrigerator-Parts/Model-LFX25960ST/3204/0161000/K0810255/00001
The switch is 402A on the diagram, located on top of the box. If you click on the parts diagram, you can enlarge it to get a closer look.
The switch part number is 6600JB3007E
Hope this helps
