I doesn't work

I have the jensen vm9311ts indesh DVD. and i installed to my car which is 2001 nissan sentra. then i got problem with the vedio, there is sound but no pictures, so i did that what you said connect the pink wire to ground, but the thing is my car doesn't have the ground wire, there is only a amplifier ground wire. i tried everything, but is just don't work. also, i didn't install the "black box" which is comes in the DVD box. is that matter? so do you have any ideas that how to fix this with out other additional staff? or if you have a diagram that to show me how to do it, that will be great.

okay, is how that works, you need have a toggle switch, and connect on-side to the pink wire from the DVD player, and off-side to the hand brake. then you have do a process 1). keep your engin on or the car power on. 2). keep the toggle on, when the DVD shows the warning screen, just wait like 4-6 second, flip the toggle off. 3). here is most important. once you flip off, wait for 5 normal counts, and flip on, then keep it on then the video will show. and it works while you drive, but its "illegal by law".
but this process you need to do everytime you turn off car completely, and if you just ture off the engin without off power, you don't have to do it(i mean you use car bettery, but if you use second bettery for you system, then i don't know how to work). cause this DVD just working this way. so this better to buy those Alpine or Mitsubishi, then you don't have to worry about it, just flip on and off.
so try it on your car, and good luck!

Guys, just buy a toggle switch and connect the pink wire and hand brake. then it will be fine. also the most important that there is a special flip, that you have to wait for like 5 counts to flip on. if its not work, flip off and wait for 5 counts to flip on. you need to do every time that you ture off then start the engin for this process.

What Kind of toggle switch do I need to get to do this "bypass" thing?

Posted on Sep 21, 2007

If you deck doesnt play the dvd it might be a burned dvd or a pirated one. If you know the parking brake bypass code that will let you see the menu there is an option to turn MACROVISION (ON and OFF)[I think]. If you turn it off you should be able to watch buned and pirated dvds. The code can be easily found through google.

I heard that just grounding the parking brake wire will not work with the jensen because the ground has to pulse. In the forumns i read said to connect the ground through a toggle switch, flip it on for a few seconds, then back off for a few, and then back on. It might be three times that you have to flip the switch on and off im not sure.

For safety reasons dash-mounted video monitors have interlocks that will prevent the driver from watching the video while the vehicle is moving. It is even illegal in some places to watch while driveing. Devices like these have wires connected to the hand brake switch and the footbrake switch. For example in Alpine DVD player, you have to step on the brake and when the vehicle is completely stopped you have to activate the hand brake 2 times in order to disable the interlock. It is most likely that these two wires are not properly connected.

The black box may be the very thing to protect your unit from harsh electrical environment such as coil back emf which can send much higher volts than 12 to the unit. it may be possible that the unit has been zapped and killed the video section. try installing in another car or even on the bench with a car battery.

On my jensen vm9311ts its shows my dvd playing but no sound. aame thing with my ipod. its says its playing, but no sound. what wrong?

I'm guessing you're not using you're head unit to power your speakers/subs you're probably using a separate amp so your problem is not likely to have anything to do with your jensen headunit. first just make sure amp is turning on, if it's not check all your power wires(pwr, grd, remote) if it is turning on check your rca cables. it's a dvd player so theres more rca's in the back of the unit, it can be confusing so it'd be easy to mix somthin up... if everything checks out ok and you still can't get any sound take it to wherever you had it installed and have them look at it till they figure out what's wrong

No memory on VM9311TS

This is almost always related to an installation error. The yellow wire at the back of the unit needs to be connected to a constant voltage source that doesn't switch off with the key. It's possible that the connections to your red and yellow wires are reversed.
