What a con. There was no mention of paying for this advice when posting the problem. I'd rather pay a TV shop to look at the problem. Thanks for nothing.

How do I get headphones to work on my tv

Faulty headphone socket. If anybody have serviced this set before; might have short circuited the internal contacts of the headphone socket. You have to replace the socket. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

I can not turn the tv spekers

suspect a issue with the socket where the headphones connect to the set---when inserted it should cut speaker sound off---often a loose connection.

Having problem with audio, with auria tv (when unplug headphones, sound will not come back on tv)

The socket for the jack on the set has a leaf connection that when you insert the jack moves aside routing sound to head phones and cutting it off to speakers= the socket for the jack is out of position inside, either needs to be replaced or tweaked inside just a little.

Not much else can cause this if the headphones work.

When I plug in a headphone from the jack in the back the sound still comes out the speakers not the headpone. Element fxl-1910

Is your Headphones ok - Have you tried them on something else?

Is the plug on the headphones of the correct type and size?

If you mute the TV or turn down the volume - does this affect the headphone volume?

Also, Do you get sound out of the Headphones at the same time as the speakers?

If the above checks out to be OK - You may have a faulty Headphone socket in the TV.

Normally when you push headphones into a TV it usually pushes a piece of Metal in the head phone socket that disengages the speakers
The socket can go faulty

My deaf father has been recommended to use headphones when watching TV. However, when his stereo headphones are plugged into the headphone jack socket, the internal speakers of his Sony KDLS32A12 are muted...

This is not a typical setup for most TVs. There are ways around it though. If your set has a set of audio output jacks, than those can be used to power a separate sound source for the headphones. There are adaptive listening systems available for this purpose what use either infra-red transmitters or RF transmitters to matching headphones. The key here is whether or not the TV has the audio output available.

Please check that and update this with what you find and I'll try to provide a solution within the context of your specific set. Post the TV model number too.

Thanks,
Dan

I have a Toshiba 46XV550 LCD TV. It has a headphone jack but this mutes the TV speakers when I plug in wireless headphones. Can I use another outlet (with an adapter) so the TV speakers stay on and I can...

I went to the local electronics store and bought one 2xRCA sockets-3.5mm stereo socket splitter and 2 RCA joiner/couplers and plugged that into the monitor audio plugs at the back of the TV. Works great for a total of $12.00.

If I jiggle the cord in the stereo outliet, the sound switches from left to right earpiece and has to be just right in the outlet to get both earpieces working at the same time.

If you plug the headphones into another device do they stay on solid?
The problem can be the cord/plug (headphones) or the socket which your plugging into. Socket might need re-soldered or replaced.

Hitachi L26H01U headphone socket doesnt work

User problem!! The main TV volume and the headphone volume work independently so you can have the TV volume set at zero and use the headphone volume. However I suggest getting a pair of headphones with it's own volume control.
