Melted the bottom of my sony vaio

Was placed on top of a heater that was later turned on. laptop boots up and seems to run fine but the plastic skin on the bottom is melted through in a couple of places and obviously needs to be replaced. Is this a part that I can order so I can make the repair myself?

No... You need to send it in to the suppliers. Sorry. I work in a huge pc workshop, and laptops hardware repairs are all done by suppliers.

Wi-Fi stopped working. Everything was fine and then my laptop could not see any network connection. The model is Sony Vaio.

Firstly, you need to run diagnostics. Maybe it will show you the reason of Wi-fi failure.
If it does not work, you must open Start Panel and type "services". When this window opens, you should search for AutoConfig WLAN service. Check if it is working properly.

If neither of that helps, check the button "Wireless" at the bottom of your PC. Perhaps, you have accidentally turned it off.

I had plugged my computer in the other day, turned it on and it worked fine. I put in a flash drive to copy somethings to it. Put the flash drive in, finished with what i was doing powered down and...

I guess you tried restarting the computer a couple times. You didn't accidently send the "C" drive to the flash drive? Have you tried putting the flash drive back in (if it hasn't been changed) and tried booting?

Remove keyboard 646125-001

  1. Prior to replacing your replacement keyboard for sony vaio vgn-fe880e/h, make sure to remove the keyboard and disconnect the ac adapter from your laptop.
  2. The first step to replacing your laptop keyboard is to remove the screws from the back of your vaio vgn-fe880e/h. Sometimes your laptop will have a picture of a keyboard next to the screws that need to be removed. Otherwise, see your laptop manual for details.
  3. Above the laptop keyboard for sony vaio vgn-fe880e/h, you have a cover panel. If required, remove this part to easily access your keyboard. If you have screws above your keyboard, remove those screws.
  4. Now that you have removed all the screws, you are ready to remove and then replace your new laptop keyboard.
  5. To remove the vaio vgn-fe880e/h Keyboard, take a thin object and pry the keyboard out between the keyboard and motherboard. Be careful when removing the keyboard.
  6. Now that your keyboard is loose, simply disconnect your keyboard. In order to disconnect the keyboard, pay attention to the keyboard connector and connector cable. Unlock the connector cable device and remove your laptop keyboard. Your sony vaio vgn-fe880e/h connector cable should be easy to remove by simply sliding it out.
  7. Now that your keyboard has been removed, get ready to install your new laptop keyboard. Look at the back of the keyboard. If you see any screw holes, you will have a good idea of where to place the screws back in at the bottom of the laptop.
  8. Connect your laptop keyboard for sony vaio vgn-fe880e/h to the motherboard keyboard connection slot. Secure the keyboard cable. Now turn your keyboard in place, and align the grooves on the bottom of your keyboard with your palmrest or plastic bezel. Secure your laptop keyboard in place, make sure it fits properly and is snug. Now simply place the screws back in place.

My sony vaio laptop is showing no operating system found and when i am restarting it and pressing F10 continously its not helping me...please help me

Ketan,

It seems that your machine is not having no OS, You can press F2 to go to BIOS and make sure the First Boot device should be HDD.
You should also make sure the HDD is listed there and it is working fine (Run the HDD test from there).

Hope this will resolve your prolem!

Laptop that shuts down.

It appears that the battery is not being charged. It may be a faulty battery, but is more likely to be a bad charger unit.

Sony Vaio VGN-N250E/W Not Booting/Responding

Take the battery and power supply out and hold down the power button for 30 seconds. This will reset your hardware settings. Your backup battery isnt your problem. Does your battery light turn on when charging? Does your keyboard lights light up when it runs for a second (try pressing caps lock)?

Computer displays black screen with blinking cursor

Its seems its not booting correctly. Just Insert Windows CD and fix the windows. Another solution is to press (I think) F1 or F11 or F12 (depending on the model) when booting the machine. It will take you to recovery mode. Use it to restore the boot section ONLY.
