I have put a new cassette in my VL-Z5 camcorder and the display says "eject the cassette". My problem is that the cassette will not eject when the cover is opened. Battery is fully charged and I've also tried it with power supply connected?
This has happened to me many times. The disk has an error (they alway do).
1: Turn it off. 2: Attatch power connection. 3: Hold down eject button. 4: It should say: "DISK ACCESS" 5: It may take a long time, but put it down in this state and leave it for as long as it may take. 6: Later on, it will eject the disk. 7: Discard of this disk, it's nothing but trouble.
You're fortunate the disc ejects. Many slot-loading DVD drives will get these mini discs stuck in them. You either need an external tray type DVD drive (some are $50 or less) or borrow a computer a tray type DVD drive with either the possibility of copying the data to the hard drive and then to a full size DVD (or dual optical drives (only one needs to be a writer) to copy from one to another). Check the specs for mini-disc (8 cm) support.
Your camera records photos on card. So, eject the card, put it onto any card reader, and simply copy your images onto PC.
Second tip - download or install USB driver for Your cam. After installing, connect it to PC. Your card appears like a new disc on Your system. Then copy photos.
Be careful! Don´t unplug the cam. Eject it from windows safely! And during transfer unplugging the card means data loss!
