EasyCAP Video Adapter with no video

I am having a problem with the EasyCap USB video capture modules that I have purchased. The problem is below and any help you can offer would be helpful

The Syntek STK1160 driver has installed OK and there are no errors in
the device manager.

The problem is when I try to capture composite video from a video
camera I don't get anything displayed on the screen, it's as though
I don't have it connected to a video source. I get the same results
using the S-Video source as well.

I also have a Belkin dvice of the same type and that works OK on both
composite and S-Video using the Ulead Video Studio program that came with the EasyCap

    Everything installed, driver is good. does not work at all. Is this thing ****, please tell me so I will stop trying and move on to something better.
    No video, no sound, as if nothing is connected. Please help.

    I have the same problem, i purchased mine off ebay, it worked ok for the first couple of times, now it will not work at all even after re installing the software a number of times, i also tried a system restore but nothing seems to work, i now wish i had never wasted my money, it's a complete load of ****.

    I have the same exact problem. I'm using XP pro sp3. I've tried installing the driver several different ways, but nothing works.

    I have the same problem. No video, except mine is intermittent. Have had for three months. Used it last night for 2.5 hrs- worked fine. Next day, no video. Im thinking its the capture unit, but not for sure. Any fixes?

    I have problem with picture, moving and jumping picture and vertical black line moving from riht to left on screen. Please help

Ok, here is what is going on. The default video setting in control panel> scanners and cameras> syntek 1160 is pal-b it should be NTSC_M. Right click on the Syntek 1160 and click Video Decoder Property. Change it to NTSC_M from Pal. Do this with the unit plugged in or it wont be displayed in the Scanners/Cameras options box. Right away the signal line should rear 1 from 0 with video hooked up. Keeping that setting to stay is my issue right now. I was so excited to figure it out, I had to post. I was about ready to throw the unit away. Its a program driver error. Hope this helps!!!

    I had the same problem but mine was in NTSC_M. Audio worked but no video. Set correctly to capture off video vs the s video. I closed my capture program down the went to my computer and double clicked the Syntek stk 1160 icon and the device initialized and video came up. I closed that window then reopened the capture software and it works. It had worked months ago and stopped for no reason. Hope this helps

How To Install EasyCap On Windows 7

easycap was not meant to used on windows 7 (i think). but i have uploaded all my easycap drivers for you,.... as always right click exe's and in compatibility mode for windows xp service pack 2. if it still not working after driver install go device manager try update drivers from there.
easycap reccomend - ulead video studio for video editing.
the rar file has no passwords. easycap driver and stuff

Windows7 64bit & EasyCap directions

In my experience with the Easycap software the quality of sound & vision is very poor. My recommendation is as follows:
1) Use windows movie maker instead to capture video.Use the 2M byte/sec capture rate. Make sure the box for "make video clips" is NOT selected - you probably don't want your vid chopped into little bits.
2) In my experience USB audio is rubbish on these devices, so instead connect your PC or laptop audio LINE IN to your sound source. Don't forget to set sound source in RECORDING section of Control Panel Sound devices to Line In instead of your Easycap (which the Easycap drivers would have preset it to by default).
