### On the CASIO Fx-9860GII, how does one do time derivatives ( i.e. (dx/dt or dy/dt)) for use with parametric functions? I am attempting to find the arc length of a parametric function.

To calculate the arc length of a curve you need the derivatives as functions of a variable not the derivatives at one point. If I were you I would read the manual for more complete information. Maybe if you wrote a program that does that.

Can it differentiate functions? Yes it can. More specifically, it can evaluate the 1st and 2nd derivatives of a given function at a given point (Numerical differentiation).
On any graphed function you can configure the calculator to display the first derivative. When tracing the curve, the 1st derivative is also shown at the trace point.

For any function, not graphed

### Can I get the same workout using a pull up bar as I would with a captains chair? They are cheaper, and if I can derive the same results, I don't see the need to spend a lot of money.

Although you are working out the same muscles, and the movement is similar, the captains chair is far superior. The captains chair forces you upper body to be still while raising your legs, thus allowing you to properly contract your abdominal muscles. Another added bonus using the captains chair is that your back is completely supported throughout the exercise.

### Trunk solenoid opens but wont close until I press the release repeatingly

No need to remove latch unit. Just spray with a good quality grease. ie lanolin or silicon. This usually fixes the problem. Don't use WD40 or any of the derivatives as thil will attract dust etc and cause more trouble

### How do i locate photo files

They're on your memory card (you do have a memory card, don't you?). Look in the "DCIM" folder. There will be a folder in there with a name derived from the model number of your camera. The photos will be in there.

### Give examples of noun derivative

noun derivative - a verb that becomes a noun by adding a suffix.

You sometimes come across words which have been derived from their roots by adding certain structures like prefixes and suffixes.

You sometimes come across words which have been derived from their roots by adding certain structures like prefixes and suffixes.
In your earlier years of schooling, you must have been done with exercises and development activities on the use of prefixes
A prefix- is a group of letters added before a word or base to alter its meaning and form a new word. In contrast, a suffix is a group of letters added after a word or base.
5 Example of prefixes:
Prefixes MEANING EXAMPLES
ana- up, back, again analogy, anatomy, anagram
anti- against antipathy, antiwar, antisocial
apo- from, away from apology, apologize
com- with, together communal, community
con- with, together connect, confide conspire
there are so many example of this. i hope it helps. remember that an adjective derivative is a noun, verb and adjective that becomes an adjective by means of adding affixes.
In this lesson, you will deal with deriving words through the use of suffixes.
A suffix added to the end of a root word.
5 Example of suffixes:
Suffixes Meaning Example
-ics things having to do with optics, physics
-ism the belief in pacifism, terrorism, socialism, communism
-logy study field of biology, geology, etymology, cardiology
-or, -er one who takes part in doctor, actor, teacher, driver
-sis act, state, condition of analysis
We have, for example, a verb that becomes a noun by adding a suffix.
This is called a noun derivative
subject- subjective
react- reactive
success- successive
care- careless
ugly- ugliness
hope- hopeless
steel- steely
accept- acceptable
obey - obedient
there are so many example of this. i hope it helps. remember that an adjective derivative is a noun, verb and adjective that becomes an adjective by means of adding affixes.
These are but few ways by which we can identify how words are derived.

### Hau I instaling GPS on my computer and than loagin on my mobailphone?

Installing programs are attainable on computer from where spaces are provided to capture through to displaying. Computer feature functions allow an extensive resourcefulness. In situations that several devices derive network connectivity requires sharing resources is attainable by allowing computer to capture the installation of extensive volume of media from where devices like mobile phone derives remnants of resources from network connections. Reason a factor with computers capturing the host functions are becomes has enough spaces as device to capture the entire volume to material programs. In the circumstance of mobile phones, spaces have least been provided by manufacturer to capture display an enormous program resources like programs. Mobile telephones derive an experience from network structure of computers however captures media in fragments necessary to user experiences. Once the global position program has been installed on computers as local devices, an area network connection of devices of mobile phones derive resources from that computer. Recognize the computer on which program was installed either as local device that sets the structure recognidsable as area from where mobile phone would derive resources. Mobile phones that derive resource from internet devices like World Wide Web least requires ascertaining the location computer from where tour guide feature as map guides are derivable. Phones that have internet world wide web's have browser page programs from where type searching map guides derives to display requested results from any available computer with media.

### Can the TI 84 calculate second derivatives?

Hello,
I am sorry to disappoint you, the nDeriv ( function can only calculate numerical derivatives of an expression at a point. The dy/dx can do the same thing (calculate the first derivative) at one point on a displayed graph. It can be activated for graphs by pressing TRACE, then [2nd][CALC][6:dy/dx]. If you need the derivative at more than one point you have to press [2nd][CAL] [6:dy/dx] again.

What I said above concerns the native abilities of the calculator. There may be applications you can install to allow computation of 2nd derivatives. look for them on the TI site, or the archive section of ticalc.org. Try deriv

Hope it helps.

### Does anyone know how to calculate derivatives using the casio fx-115es? For example: find the derivative of f(x)= 3x^3=3x. Thank you!

hello,
The calculator will calculate the derivative at a point. It will not give you the formula for the derivative, just the derivative at the point you choose.
Sorry, it can ONLY do NUMERICAL differentiations and integrations.
