When I put a casette tape into the tape player of my 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe double din cd tape head unit there is a message on the display that says TIGHT TAPE then the tape ejects how to correct this so...

If it does this with all of the tapes your cassette player needs to be cleaned. there might be some dust in there that is stopping it from working correctly. You can blow it out using an air compressor (NOT ON FULL) just blow it gently out so nothing gets moved from the air.

You can also use keyboard cleaner from any computer store (it is just a can of compressed air) walmart and zellers also have this for you.

If it only does it on that tape stick a pen through the round hold and wind it all the way around to the other side this should loosen the tape a bit for the player to play that tape.

Cd 6000 in focus estate 2006. How do I get the unit out.I think aerial is disconnected. I have two din keys. Many thanks Derek Kenward

Hi,

This unit actually uses four special flat blade keys. Getting the 6000CD head unit out is easy when you have these keys but you need all four and they are not standard DIN keys. Simply insert all four keys into the 4 slits above and below the buttons at the corners on the unit. The curved part of the keys always face in towards the middle of the unit. Then using both hands insert fingers into all 4 keys and pull. The unit should slide out easily.

You can get these keys from Maplins or Halfords or even Ebay. See image of keys below for reference. They cost around £6.

Please do leave a vote for the free solution. Thanks.

I have a 2003 Lincoln Navigator with an Alpine W900BT Double Din receiver. I would like to be able to watch DVDs while I am driving. I was curious if there was anyone with DETAILED information, as I am...

First thing to do is to take out the head unit. Find the wiring loom behind the unit and look for a pink/black wire. Try to get as much wire as possible and cut it (away from the head unit). Strip the wire and connect it to the ground of your car (metal object or casing of your head unit). Your DVD now plays whenever you want. Have a nice day!

Have just purchased a cde-100 for an mx3. Does the "mounting sleeve" come with the unit? If so, is it attached to the unit as shipped? I am studying the installation instructions. Are there more explicit...

mounting sleeve is on the radio when you buy it in most of my experiences.

reinforcing the HEAD UNIT-(the cd player itself) with metal straps means that the DIN(the hole the radio goes into in your dash, either single or double) dash piece is probably made of a softer material, and you should mount a small metal strap, usually does not come with the unit, to the units mounting sleeve, and then mount it to the inside of the dashboard of the car with some screws or bolts. this will keep the cd player from moving around, bouncing, etc while you drive over bumps and such.

you could probably get some metal mounting straps either from the box the radio comes in (very few come with them) or get a dash install kit from an auto parts store or a walmart for your car that will probably include all of the things you need including the dash piece, any mounting hardware, and metal straps the factory recommends or deems necessary, and even a wiring harness adapter.

If the unit was installed professionally no wire's will have been cut from factory harness. Yes you would need an aftermarket adapting harness so your speakers will work . Vehicle may also be equipped with a stock amp. be sure to hook remote wire on harness to head unit.
