Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

1 Answer

Red Ring of Death crops up when my 360 gets too hot.

I have the Red Ring of Death, though unlike most cases, my xbox works fine until it reaches a certain temperature where it shuts down and the red lights flash.

My warranty has already expired so should i pay microsoft £50 to repair it, attempt to repair it myself, or just buy a cooling fan?

Is it just the two lights on the the left? thats the code for overheated. i suggest putting it in a well ventilated area or get an intercooler.

Xbox 360 red ring of death

Not a simple question.

It depends on the 360 to be honest.

Whatever you do try do not do the "towel trick"
The red ring of death is usually an overheating problem and the towel trick will cause the 360 to overheat.
Look on youtube for "the penny trick/fix"

I'd recommend you send your xbox to a repair center though. In most cases they will repair it for free.

Xbox 360 turns on but nothing appears on the screen

First signs of red ring of death. Try getting a heat gun and heating up gpu and cpu also might want to do xclamp mod. Quick fix put a towel around your unit turn it on and let it get hot but more then likely breaks again. Sometimes the towel works good as you only have no video so it should work. Best is heat gun though.

My 360 has red ring and does not work.

I am sorry to say that you have what is called the red ring of death. If you have the original receipt from the store where you bought the XBox, you should be able to return it for a new one. The RROD occurs when the XBox gets to hot and shorts out the motherboard.

Xbox 360 3 red lights can anyone please help?

That has absolutely nothing to do with the Hard drive. The red ring of death is a standard misfunction with the Xbox 360. You will have to contact your local game stores to see if they do Red ring of death fixes, send it in to microsoft, or attempt to red ring fix it yourself.

Red Ring Of Death

it could be the cables or it could be that your 360 has an error and their may be a chance that it may have to do inside you 360 with the processor or the mother board it self also check if it is hot in the back it could be overheating (not rrod) if so leave it off between 2-4 hours.
