Touble re-fitting transfere unit

I need to replace the transfere unit on my epson c900. I have removed the old unit but cannot re-fit the new unit as the aligning pegs dont seem to line and prevents the new unit from locating fully back into the printer. I have tried twisting the unit so that the end aligning peg and multi plug are in line but it still wont go home fully. Can you suggest where i am going wrong.

Thanks

At the back of the printer where the transfer unit locates is a white plastic cam. This has probably moved a few segrees and you just need to rotate it back into position before you can locate the new transfer unit.

I have found that you can install the transfer unit as far as possible and leave the top retaining screw out, slightly tighten the lower screw (it may flex the transfer housing very slightly).

Put the waste tonner back on and close the door.

Power up the machine and listen for the click, thats the unit moving into the correct position when the cam rotates.

Turn the machine off install and tighten both retaining screws and you should be all done.

HI tigertail

I've got the same problem, but I can't manage to turn the cam around so that it will stay in place? How did you manage to do this?

Thanks,
Ashley

After i change a used transfer unit into the c900, why is it still stated need to change transfer unit?

Is this a remanufatured part?

Epson's printers have microchipsets that indicate when a unit is blown. Some remanufatured parts may still have defective chipsets that prevent printers from using these parts. Try buying an orignal part or another comaptable but new part to see if this works.

Let me know how it goes :)

Transfer Belt

You need to reset the printer in the menu. There is a option in the menu where you tell the printer that you installed a new transfer kit.

Epson Aculaser C900 photoconductor inserted incorrectly message after changing

Hey Marts Try this: Remove the PCU and the Transfer belt assy's Look inside the machine to the back, top left where you will see the cam as detailed in the picture below Open the right door and you will see a Green Wheel about half way down on the back side. Turn this wheel so the cam inside turns untill it is about 100 - 110 degrees further round (anti clockwise) than it is in the picture - basically make it go as far round anti clockwise as it will go Now try reinserting the TFB and PCU assy's in turn. You do not need to insert the 2 big silver screws that hold these units in place Close her up and see how you get on. If this has no effect, let me know and I will see what else you can do.
