Hi there,i brought my son xbox360 7 months ago from my local argos store, today its not working the power lead is working but not the console.my son has leukamia and is extremly upset he connot play his favourite console.please help asap.kind regards Natalie
Call 1-800-4MY-XBOX if you see red rings around the power light. If you just bought it 7 months ago, it is still under warranty. Do not use one of the custom shops who say they will fix the red ring errors as this will void your warranty with Microsoft.

Hi, I`m having the same problem aswell, It happend to me 2 days ago, i even took the xbox back and after some Hoo Haa i got a new one but that didn`t solve the problem,I`m going to buy a HDMI cable for £14.to see if that works, i`lll keep you posted.
Got kind of bad news , It is the power supply ,but it's the power supply
in side the box itself. It's more than likely a shorted regulator specifically
one of the 12 volt liner reg chips , I had to swap a few out to resolve
this a few times.
Carollesly, you can send the xbox away and get a brand new Xbox
360 console in exchange. All you have to do is pay for the postage. Contact the following numbers and they should be able to give you all the help you need!
Here are the Telephone details, 0800 587 1102 or +44 20 7365 9792 from a mobile phone Hearing Impaired (TTY device): 0800 587 1103
this is of no help all i can recommend to you is to go onto 'google'
and type this in "Xbox 360 contact". Then it will come up first result
'Contact us' then click on that.
May i also add a bit of helpful advice to either you or your son, about once a month just clean the console with the hoover to get rid of dust build up and to have the console somewhere where it isn't hot as that can cause the 'Red ring of death' which your sons console has experienced.
My son had the same problem exactly a yr ago, and when I checked at the local games shop here, it is a common problem with the xbox!. I had to phone microsoft, which didn't turn out to be too bad, and then had to send the whole (silver) hard drive to them. It took about 2-3 weeks, from memory, but all was free (including post/handling) due to the warranty. I'm from Australia, and it was good to know it could be fixed in my own country, which I was worried about.
Its laser burn. I have had this. Ask your son if he has tipped the xbox 360 with a game in it as that can cause this. If not the tabs that hold the game in place are broken causing the disc to 'wobble'. If you get the bottom right quadrant illuminate red then contact me personally at: firstname.lastname@example.org
if you bought less than 12 months ago, you pay nothing when you notify microsoft calling 18004MYXBOX. An expensive way to deal with this is simply getting the xbox elite which never has this problem at all!
It you are not getting any error lights at all when you turn it on it is a power issue. What color lights are on the power supply when you plug it in (before powering the 360 on) and what color lights do you have after you try to power it on? Orange means the power supply is in stand-by mode or the plug is not correctly plugged into the system (when you try to power it on. Red means the power supply detected a fault, it is either too much current, to little current or overheated power supply. Plug the power unit directly into a wall outlet, no extension cords or power supplies. Has you son changed or played with the faceplate? Sometimes when you remove or change the faceplate they don't seat correctly and the power button on the faceplate does not contact the power switch under the faceplate. My guess would be an issue with the power supply so I would start there first.
