I removed the control knob and found it perfectly clean. I also removed the hob cover disc to expose the elecrode, but found this clean also. Have purchased a hand held ignitor to use for the time being. The hob and oven have only been installed a few months but we did not fill in the guarentee.

Gud day,the main problem of ur cooktop is the micro swicth inside the unit, difficult to repair it if u are no have idea how to repair, this micros swicth is color blue or red connecting to main power & igniter transformer,u can see the mico swicth if u remove the knob, but if u want to clean the micro swicth first unplug the unit then remove all the screw at the top of unit to remove the stainless cover then u see the all the parts,if u see the micro swith remove it carefully, remember b4 u remove if remember the place & possition for returning purpose only,to clean the micro swicth u see if the parts have a clip lock to see inside the switch, always the problem of the switch is grounding (common problem) clean using the brush or check it if have grounding the contact.sory for not perpect enhlish.tnx gerbee

One igniter produces no spark. is it bad? can i

Looks like you may have a bad ignitor. Try adjusting the arc gap. Sometimes of the ignitor is too close to the burner, the ignitor will not spark. It may also be that te burner is dirty and needs a little cleaning to allow for the electric ignitor spark to arc accross, thus producing ignition. Good luck.

Electrolux EOB976: cooker hose or copper pipe?

Hello,
The regulations state that the proximity of the hob to the cooker would dictate the use of a copper pipe to supply the hob.

Hope this helps.

Smeg gas hob ignition

There is a problem with the board. It has malfunctioned onto an ignition mode. By switching it off, it shows the capacitor is holding chage untill flat.(Hence the continual sparking) Replace it.

Ignitor keeps sparking not wet or dirty even when no burner on

Will most probably be a problem with your ignition box. If you want to test this try taking off the hob by undoing the screws under the burners, be very careful with these however as it is very easy to strip the thread on them, once you have the hob off try unplugging the ignitor that keeps sparking and swapping where its plugged into the ignition box with another ignitor. These ignitor can be plugged into any plug in the box so no worries there. If the ignitor keeps sparkings in another hole its the ignitor. If the new ignitor sparks its the ignition box. It will most probably be the ignition box. Is a common fault

Aeg hob

It is child lock.

Turn cooker on, press two + at front of oven, this will then take it off for that cooking session.

To turn child lock off switch on hob, and touch - for 5 seconds.

problem with hob is probably water ingress in area of ignition unit - will probably cure itself oven is a completely separate unit from hob. problem with it is that you have to re-set the clock - you have it on automatic. after power outage, oven clock always has to be reset
