Yes you can but a laptop has a shorter life than a desktop PC, if you leave it on 24, its life will be much shorter starting by the battery, then the hard drive, the CPU, screen...etc and not necessarily in this order.

Thanks for using fixya…good luck and don’t forget to rate this…
cheers

Your cmos battery is dead. It's the tiny watch battery that keeps a small part of the computer on to monitor time and date. Get that replaced.

My wifi window will not com up for me to connect what do i do to open it When clicking on wifi icon in right corner the ip information tab only comes up and not all three so therefore can't click on...

You can: If you can click on start, click on run, type desk top into the open space and ok it. your icons should be shown. you will have to copy and paste each one back to your desk top, or select edit and then select select all, then click on file, select send to, and select desk top as short cut

Desk top screen keeps flashing wont start up

THE IDEA OF THE SCREEN FLASHING COULD BE EITHER A WINDOWS PROBLEM OR A VIRUS,THE BEST WOULD BE TO GET A HOLD OF A WINDOWS INSTALLATION CD AND JUST UPGRADE THE CURRENT SOFTWARE THAT YOU ARE RUNNING ON THE PC.

Windows keep popping up

I've had this happen to me by accident once and a while. if it's many months then possibly re-installing the touchpad drivers (or updating them) would help.
You can also adjust mouse settings in the control panel, found in my computer on the left side of the window.
Hope this helps a little, It does sound like the buttons are sticky. be sure to rate! :)
