Might try this... 64GB RunCore Pro IV 1.8" 5mm PATA ZIF Solid State Disk SSD. Not cheap though! http://www.amazon.com/64GB-RunCore-PATA-Solid-State/dp/B002XAY5HO/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I2NDY2E1JC2043&colid=3M653QP8L10QW

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

That usually indicates a hard drive failure. You can order a replacement from most technology stores. Now is the time to upgrade to a solid state drive (SSD)

Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5084 CPU upgrade

It is possible but usually not worth the hassle.
Changing to another CPU chip that fits your motherboard may only show a 3-10% performance change.

See videos of CPU replacement in laptops like yours:

or

In general, you are better off adding more RAM (memory) or replacing the hard drive with a faster SSD (Solid State Drive) to make a laptop "fly". Your laptop can hold a max of 8 GB RAM:

http://www.crucial.com/upgrade/Toshiba-memory/Satellite+C655+Series/Satellite+C655D-S5084-upgrades.html

In MOST laptops, slower 5400 RPM drives are used, and this is the main performance bottleneck. A 7200 RPM drive or (better yet) a SSD drive will help matters, as will more RAM (the most cost-effective speed increase).

I have this seagate momentus hard drive, i had windows home buitin and then i upgraded to 8, after that i formatted my reserved and recovery parttion as i wanted a clean intallation and now i cant see my...

First off....8 is not an upgrade, Win 10 is an upgrade.
Forget looking for any data from your old hard drive as it has been written over and you cannot retrieve it any longer. Just obtain a copy of Windows Ten or pay for a new updated disc. Let Windows format the hard drive and install itself for you.

Sony vaio vgn-fz21e upgrade solid state drive

If you are looking to upgrade to a solid state drive, or already have a solid state drive and just want to upgrade the size, you will have to purchase the new drive, when you receive the drive you will have to turn the notebook over and there should be a rectangular panel underneath about 5"x3" inches which can be removed by a small Philips head screw driver, remove the panel, carefully remove the hard drive installed, and install your new drive. Put all the parts back, and then you will have to do a clean install of an operating system on the new system. Good luck!

I have ASUS x5dc. I have installed windows 7 64 bit. Can i change OS?. My laptop is very slow.

Windows 7 is a very good operating system. But, the laptop may have a slow processor. Try to see if you can upgrade the processor to a core 2 duo or above. Also, try to upgrade or increase the memory to 2 gigabytes or above to 4 gigabytes if possible. The computer is guaranteed to speed up with memory and processor upgrades. Also, try to upgrade the hard disk drive to a SSD or Solid State Drive and you will see awesome speed.

My D430 laptop has a 32GB solid state hard drive which is nearly full and needs to be upgraded. It must have a solid state drive made for the D430 but I can't seem to find a larger solid state replacement...

I found one for £202.00 a 64GB one.. what an obscene amount of money!

I'd suggest you invested in a portable hard drive for your data at a tenth the price you could get a 100GB drive

What is the difference between hard drive and solid state drive

SSD or Solid State Drive has no moving parts - while normal hard drive has. Just think about name.

It shows disk error on screen and i can't software to download music to my computer

You might have a bad hard drive in the device. The Jukebox 20 has a hard drive inside which stores the songs and if that has died, it would need to be replaced. Another possibility is the files got corrupted. When I figure out why mine is doing the same thing ... I'll post again with a better answer but I strongly suspect the little hard drive inside it.

Hard drive error

same exact problem let sit for several months went to turn on and all i could see was a "hard disk error" message flash very quickly and then turn off. after months of no help online i decided to open
my jukebox 20 and there are 4 ni-cad batteries inside. i removed batteries and replaced with 4 "AA"
regular energizer batteries and it works fine. at least until i extract my 1000 songs and put them on another device so i ll never lose them. GOOD LUCK.
